LF, 2nd, SS, 3rd

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
“Bama”

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Zack King is an incredibly talented & hard working lefty that has a smooth swing, knows a lot about the game, & can run incredibly fast.

What is your height and weight?
5’ 10” 185lbs

Where do you call home?
Andover, MN

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Being around friends & family

What do you do for a living?
Sheet Metal Fabricator (HVAC)

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played baseball in high school, college, & amateur.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I got my start in softball by playing league & tournaments with friends & I got to the level I’m currently at by continuously putting in the work & thankfully getting noticed.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The length of the games are a lot longer in the conference. You really have to have patience, steal outs when you’re able to, weather the storm, & hit with teams.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
A career highlight was this past year (2019) being told at the end of June I was hitting over .700 in the conference & at one point I led the conference in batting avg. without homers or walks at .670 my first year playing in the conference. I’ve always wanted to know if I could compete at this level & finding that out made me feel like can.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Mike Beardsley taught me a lot about the game over years & a lot about my game itself. He taught me about the game within the game, how to approach each at bat with a purpose, how to try to play offense on defense, & that hustle is free. With the right attitude & effort amazing things can happen.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Keep working on your game. Take bp with a purpose. Play in upper level tournaments.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Original batting grip 12inch 26oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I’m constantly in the gym, in the cages, or playing in dome leagues/tournaments.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
My Favorite sports team is the Minnesota Twins & I really enjoy golfing.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Never touch the lines on the field, warm-up with the same partner, hit last in bp before games, & always take time for myself to listen to music before every game to get my mind right.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
The Dudley in MN because it’s more a home town tournament for me.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
ESPN Stadium Field/Complex because they were maintained really well & there was a mixture of dirt & turf fields to play on.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
WAWA

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
A first basemen run away from a throw because he lost it in the sun.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I love to help out & give whatever advice I can to help players get better.
