Major Watch List

2011 Interview

Why do you like the game of softball?
• I like the competition and softball is my stress reliever

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
 • There are so many great players in the upper levels, it is hard to pick just one.  But in my opinion, the best I have seen is Geoffery Orr, a shortstop from Louisiana.   He does not play much anymore and never really played the circuit but could have easily been one of the best upper level shortstops.

Where do you call home?
• I live in Bryant, Arkansas with my wife, Kelly, and daughter, Korbin.

What do you do for a living?
• I am a manager for Lansing Building Products in Little Rock.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
 • I played baseball, football, and basketball in High School and played baseball at Southern Arkansas University.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
• I got talked into playing league softball with some friends which led to playing with them on the weekends.  One of those weekends, a sponsor of an A team out of Texas asked me if I would like to play a weekend with them.   I accepted and played the rest of the year with them…that was 13 years ago.

What is your favorite sports team?
• LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and Texas Rangers.

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
• Baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
• When getting dressed for a game I have to put my socks on first.

What is your most memorable softball moment?
• Getting hit in the face with a bat while standing on deck.   I spent 2 weeks in the ICU and a month in the hospital.   I received plastic eye sockets, a titanium cheek plate, 2 screws in my jaw, and over 250 stitches.   That is a hard one to forget.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
• No composite bats.   Pitchers should not have to wear masks and 165 pound guys should not be able to hit it 400 feet.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
• The McQuades in Bismarck North Dakota was a cool tournament.  There are great people up there who love softball.   I also like the Smoky Mountain Classic.

Who are you playing with in 2011?
• FBI
