Who are you playing with in 2022, and who have you played with in the past?

2021 was supposed to play with La Famiglia C team but took the summer off because my wife and I had twin girls.

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
I play 1b, 2b, and 3b. Best position is 1b but play above average at all positions.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
So many of them. Was at the Columbus major two years ago so saw the best of the best. Flip puts the ball where he wants it, Pearson can hit it a mile long, Messer may have the best glove in the game, and Andy Purcell still has the best knuckle ball I’ve ever seen in person.

Why do you like the game of softball?
Grew up watching my dad play and travel when I was young. When I hung by baseball cleats up after college I knew it was what I wanted to do next.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
He’s not really up and coming by Tyler Marshburn is such a young player who plays the game hard and the right way and is fun to watch. I also think that Clayton Farrar has the real potential to make a name for himself in the game.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Really don’t have a specific nickname. A lot of people just call me by my last name at times.

What is your height and weight?
6’ 300lbs

Where do you call home?
Chardon, Ohio

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With family doing anything outdoors; most likely fishing. Especially since becoming a father family means everything even more now.

What do you do for a living?
I am a fitter/welder for a company who builds nuclear components for the Navy.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
3 sport athlete in high school. 4 year varsity starter at 1b as well as an under classmen all Ohio selection. Played 1b in college before hanging it up to get into the welding career.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Got my start from growing up around the game. Working my way up the level by hard work and always being willing learn and understand the game and how to play it.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Hoping to make that step one day.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Don Golga. Three summers ago he worked with me on how to hit the ball the other way and it completely changed my game. Thank him for it every time I see him.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Stay grounded. You’re not the best one out there so don’t act like you are. Always listen to the veterans and be willing to learn and work hard.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Taped grip and a 26ounce bat.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Workout in the gym and constant tee sessions and defensive work to improve my game and weaknesses from the previous season.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Cleveland Indians and Ohio State buckeyes. Favorite sport is baseball.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Nothing over the top.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Either country or some old school hip hop. Keep me cool and calm and go up there and do the job.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Mojo has always been fun to play in but the weather is never good because of time of year.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Berliner in Columbus Ohio.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Enjoy a good burger or wings after a day of ball.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
Raised by my grandparents the first 13 years of my life.
