1st/c/eh

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Ben Dunn great all around ball player

Why do you like the game of softball?
Because it gives me the chance to keep competing at a high level

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Bryan McCoy from Dallas,tx great teammate and all around solid player

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Big steve

What is your height and weight?
6’2 280lbs

Where do you call home?
Tulsa, ok

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Hunting or fishing

What do you do for a living?
Construction management

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played college baseball and a year of independent baseball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Well I got my start after baseball playing in some church tournaments . It took me 7 years playing before I got the chance to play upper ball .

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Def the caliber of players. Pitchers are better and defensive don’t make many mistakes.  Also playing on stadium fields is a big step up from the 300 ft fields

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I grew up always admiring Brett helmer. I’m kinda built like him and I’m a lefty. Obviously I gotta a lot of work to put in to be to his ability.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Winning asa worlds last year with the Seminoles was a pretty epic moment in my softball career

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Brian McLain aka biscuit was great having him as a coach last year. Def knows the game and helped me out a lot last year.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Practice, practice. Practice. I don’t care how good you are, always put the time in hitting, fielding and working out. Show out when you have the opportunity’s and people will notice.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Pinky off with a slight overlap.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Stay in the gym and usually try and hit whether that’s off a tee or In a cage somewhere twice a week.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Dallas cowboys

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Never step on the chalked lines

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Eliminate grown men arguing over balls and strikes.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Always enjoyed the toys for tots tournament in Palm Springs.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Also enjoy the new fields at vierra

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chipotle

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Probably last year at the smoky when I thought I hit a no doubter and it hits the top of the fence and I had to sprint from the dugout and almost got thrown out at first
