Who are you playing with in 2019, and who have you played with in the past?
Military A with Lackland out of Texas. Have played for Wiley’s and WestShore Pizza.

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
1st Catch EH and if needed OF. 1st base or Catch

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
I’ve seen a lot of great players..But Greg Connell would be my number #1 and Jeremy Yates

Why do you like the game of softball?
Softball is a game that challenges you in many different ways. Also the friends you make and form long lasting friendships.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
I would have to say Robbie Fow. He can Pitch. Play OF, and hit with the best of them.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
John J Rambo.. Im guessing because of my background in the Marine Corps and still able to play the game at a high level.

What is your height and weight?
6’3 255

Where do you call home?
Jacksonville, FL

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
I enjoy Golfing. Spending time with good friends. Grilling out by the pool.

What do you do for a living?
Work for BMW in Logistics.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Yeah my 1st Love was Football and played QB. Then Baseball and Track. Lettered in all. Played some college ball but had a really bad Shoulder Injury.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I played on my Intramural Team while I’m the Marines. Eventually making the All Marine Team and All Armed Forces Team. Mike Tourney introduced me to the upper level.. Also Scotty Langford got me a shot with Wiley’s Supreme
Who I played for Rick Wiley for 3yrs.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The Pitching and the speed of the Game.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I try not to compare myself to anyone. Just be yourself.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Winning the Military A with Militia and playing in the Major.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Mike Tourney. Billy Register. Both pushed me and challenge me to be a smarter softball player and know the Game.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Stay Humble. Let your Game speak words..Not your Mouth.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
2 finger drop 1 off the handle. 27oz.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Hit BP and the Gym.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
I’ve been a Dallas Cowboy Fan since I was a kid. I would say Golf.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
The Commanders Cup In Colorado. You get to reunite with Service Members.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Viera Fl.  Well taken care of.  USSSA Complex.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Winghouse

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
Served as a Marine Corps Sniper. Also was on the All Marine Corps shooting Team. 

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
My Grandfather passed away 2yrs ago at 105yrs Old And he gave me a 1939 Baseball signed by the Boston Redsox whole Team including Ted Williams.
