Why do you like the game of softball?
The game of softball allows me to compete, travel, and meet different people.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?

Charles Wright. I never saw him actually play, just hit bp with him a few times but I have heard so many great stories about Him.   Purcell, Wegman, DD3 are impressive and nobody is hitting it as far as Connell right now.

What position do you play?
SS, MI

Where do you call home?
Columbus, GA

What do you do for a living?
Shipping/Receiving @ Aflac

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Yes, Baseball and Basketball @ Jordan High School

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Lots of bp.   3-4 days a Week until 12-1am on Weekdays and Weekends Year around.   Softball quickly became an addiction and I was obsessed with the game.   Luckily, Ricky Childs shared this same obsession and addiction so we made great hitting partners.

In 1999, Friends from High School ask me to play and I was hooked instantly.   My best Friend and I, Jeff Broadwater played Mon-Thur City League.   Friday night 1 pitches near the city we were scheduled to play in on Saturday.   Also, a Sunday night league for 4 or 5 straight years!    Most of those teams were sponsored by John Smith, Loves Jewelers and Russell Sellers, RussCo Farms.   I played for Tim Kirby, Kirby Investments in 2006.   And I started playing for David Strickland, Logo Express in 2007.

What batting grip do you use?
Standard baseball grip, pinky off knob

What is your favorite sports team?
Braves, Falcons, NBA, NCAA Basketball

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Basketball, Golf

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
I've got routines, but I don't consider them superstitions.

What is your most memorable softball moment?
Winning the ASA in 2007 and playing in Oklahoma City and finishing 5th in the B World in 2002….. with my league team!

Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?
Both

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I wish something could be done about the bats and limiting the number of major players per team would help even out the playing field.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Smokey, Mullet

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
So many but Southeastern, Panama City, FL Jamie Hancock slides headfirst into a puddle of water at home plate as a dare.   He was soaked and also splashed a couple of spectators watching behind the backstop.   Jamie is about 330lbs!
