Why do you like the game of softball?
Being able to compete at a high level. And the friendships that you form with teammates.
Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
There are too many to name. So many are good/great at defense/offense. If I had to pick one I would say….Wegman.
What is your nickname in softball?
Maz

What do you do for a living?
I'm a crew leader at T.R. Gear Landscaping
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
In High School I played Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer.
I played Baseball in college at Wabash Valley Junior College.
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing with friends in round robins. After that I played on a few local teams, and had always played against Mike Foulks. In 2010 Mike called me and asked me if I'd play for AJS.
What position do you play?
Shortstop
What batting grip do you use?
pinkie over the knob
What ounce bat, make and model do you use?
28oz Easton Synergy…Wegman model
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I do light workouts, and play indoor. Try to hit as much as i can.
What is your favorite sports team?
Cincinnati Reds/Bengals
What is your favorite sport other than softball?
football
Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
A wristband on my left forearm
What is your most memorable softball moment?
In 2010-winning the B world with AJS. We had a great group of people. The winners bracket final game was the best game I've ever been a part of. Also, this year winning B world again with Blitz/Watanabe. That team had been together for a long time, and was full of great guys. It was pretty cool to win back to back B-Worlds.
Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?
Sport….If you play something to win then it's a sport
What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
aluminum bats and a 47core ball
What is your favorite non-World tournament?
The Dudley is a great atmosphere. And the Cincy Major because I don't have to stay in a hotel.
What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
In the middle of a tournament there was a play at 2nd. The call didn't go the way that our middle infielder wanted. He preceded to throw a temper tantrum and spiked the ball in the umps face. Then as he's walking off the field he throws our teammates glove up in a tree.
