Who are you playing with in 2022, and who have you played with in the past?

2022 – PWW/The May Team “C team out of Arkansas”
2021- PWW/The May Team. Previous 5 years I was traveling for work in the oilfield.

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
P/3B.  Pitcher is where I’m most comfortable and best position.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Travis Clark

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love the competition and I enjoy meeting new people and building relationships through the game.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Blake Fairchild from Arkansas has a ton up upside.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
“Red” – the red mullet

What is your height and weight?
5’10 250lbs

Where do you call home?
Bald Knob, AR

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With the wife and daughters at the pool.

What do you do for a living?
Sales for MSC

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football, Baseball, track in HS. College baseball at Crowder JC and Henderson state university.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Played some pick up ball in Arkadelphia AR and Shawn Hardage asked me to come run the OF for API.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
I’ve only played in a handful of conference events but obviously  the routine plays are made way more and there aren’t no weakness in opposing teams line-ups  as a pitfher

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
No, I watch Travis, Mooch, and others when I can and try to learn from them since they are some of the best in the game.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Shane Boyer has been like my mentor/friend that has helped me the most in the game.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Always give 110%. You never know who’s watching. Play the game the right way.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Traditional. 26.5 oz end load

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
BP, weights.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
LSU Tigers at the collegiate level. STL Cardinals MLB. Baseball is my favorite sport.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Don’t step on the white lines before game

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Tripp Roth, the atmosphere is unmatched.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Viera and The new complex at Texas star.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Waffle House

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I’m an avid duck hunter and love the outdoors.
