2018 War by the Shore

Game #1 Recap

Monsta's Filip Washington hits his 2nd homer of the game!  He was 4-4 with 2 HR and 5 RBI

Monsta Athletics threw the first punch in their best of 5 grudge match series with Smash It Sports/Thunder Friday night.  They blanked Smash It Thunder 1-2-3 in the top of the first inning and then put up 3 runs on 6 hits in the bottom of the inning.  In the 2nd inning they added 3 more runs on a 2 out – 3 run "no doubt" homer by left fielder Filip Washington and went up 8-1 on a 2 run double by Steve Whaley in the bottom of the 3rd inning.  Monsta scored at least 1 run in every inning and won easily 14-3.  Chris Greinert had the only other Monsta homer in the 5th and it hit the top of the score board in left field.  For Smash It Thunder the hits were few and far between as they collected just 8 hits and the lone homer was by Luis Reyna in the top of the 7th.  The defense for both teams went errorless and the pitching on both sides was as good as it gets.  At game time it was a pleasant 64 degrees and there was no wind.  This series is using the .52 core hot dot ball.

Game #2 is set for today (Saturday) at 10 AM eastern time.  Monsta leads the series 1-0 and you can watch the games at Warbytheshore2018.com.
