Long time and legendary softball sponsor at the Major level, Richard Howard of Howards Furniture was just inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame.  Turns out he served as the vice president, general manager, and president of the Charlotte Motor Speedway for 13 years between 1964 and 1976 and is credited with pulling the now famous race track out of bankruptcy.  The article talks about his Major slowpitch team and his racing endeavors.  The article says he teamed with Junior Johnson in supporting a NASCAR team and is credited with earning 21 victories.
