Love the competitiveness and the new friends you make along the way

Taco and because of my last name being Ortega like the taco shells

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Fishing in the Spring/Summer/Fall and hunting in the winter and always spending time with the family

Install and Repair Tech
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football and Basketball
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started playing when I was 15 in church league and getting noticed by others
What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Competitiveness and not a lot of errors
Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I'm not sure
What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Playing OF during the State tourney to move the MI back to his position
In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Denis Fisher, Corey Tapp, Both of these guys were always giving me pointers to help me improve my game.
What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Keep your head up and Keep Grinding
What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Regular tape and 25 or 25.5
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Grinding in the cages and playing Dome tourneys
What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Cubs, Packers, Iowa!
