What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Outfield, and recently 1st Base. Best position would be Right Field since that is where I spend most of my time.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Bryson Baker makes it look easy. been watching him play since I started playing 12 years ago.

Why do you like the game of softball?
Allows me to be competitive and meet some great people along the way.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Cody Edwards is coming up fast. he can play all over the field and hits it well. he has potential for only playing a few years.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Gooch was my first one that stemmed from my school days.
Blaisor which is in reference to Dodgeball the movie
Chops because I have stupid massive chops sideburns on the sides of my face."

What is your height and weight?
6'4" 240lbs

Where do you call home?
Hope, Indiana

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Hanging with the family and cruising the Hot Rods

What do you do for a living?
I am a Technician at Faurecia.  I test prototype vehicle exhaust systems

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
High School Baseball and Basketball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started playing league ball right out of highschool. Got asked to play in a Friday night round robin then started travel ball shortly after. played lower level for years then got a shot at the conference in 2013, and have been in ever since.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
How consistent everyone is from top to bottom. Defense was a big difference too. You def. have to earn your hits no freebies!

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I don't like to compare myself to others since we all are so different, but I will say from years back of watching Brandon Dillon I've always tried to chase him and follow his paths to the top.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
This year in A worlds in one game I had two triples and a grand slam. That was pretty cool I guess. haha

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Rob Roop gave me the confidence coming into the conference. He shot me straight and set high expectations for me when we would take BP and work on things. Another would be my coach Mike Rosenthal. hes been around the game through all of its evolution. he taught me alot during games and again set the bar high for me.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Get to know the upper level guys. At the same time always go hard. You never know who may be watching. 

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
27oz pinky on the knob 

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
lift and play volleyball to keep my body conditioned especially my shoulder and elbow for throwing. 

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
UK Basektball and basketball is my favorite other than softball.  Volleyball is a close second.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
yes. cross the foul line at the same spot for just that game. Never step on the foul line. no crossed bats in the dugout, and bat bag hangs in the same spot on the fence for each game.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
something Metallica

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
re-evaluate the points system

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
County Community because its a loaded tourney and I get to play with my local yahoos.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Osceola Stadium is pretty awesome. The Big League Dreams parks are awesome too. Vegas was a fun tourney.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Waffle House

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Some guy in league ball lost his pants twice running for a triple then falls before third and gets tagged out. 

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I am OCD.  I wash my hands alot even between games at the park. lol

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
My brother got me a signed UK basketball with all the teams signatures on it. pretty neat gift.
