2018 – Vivid/Killbombers – Conf A

2020 Free Agent – Justinboman@yahoo.com

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
3rd 2nd 1st or a corner outfield if needed. My best position is 3rd or 2nd.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
It’s tough to say who the best is. I’d have to say KP, Connell, Branch, Baker, and Wegman are some that nobody can disagree with.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love playing softball because it feeds my competitive appetite and allows me to meet a lot of people from all over.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
I would have to say the best up and coming softball player is Orlando Olivera. Dude has all the potential In the world with stupid pop.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Bo and I think it’s from my last name Boman but I could be mistaken..

What is your height and weight?
6ft 230lbs

Where do you call home?
I currently live in St. Louis MO.

But home is Reno NV.

What do you do for a living?
Accountant at a property management company

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
High school football and baseball
2 years junior college baseball
2 years NAIA baseball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I grew up around the softball field watching my dad play since I was in a stroller. I started playing league in 2016 where I met a guy named Ross Huebner. Ross then asked me to play with him one weekend with his team which happened to be B nationals in Detroit. This was my first competitive tourney as well as my first utrip tourney. Got invited back to play worlds with them a few weekend later. Then 2017 rolled around and thanks to Craig Shaw and Ross Huebner for putting his neck on the line, I got a chance to play with Pure Sports a conference A team.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
I haven’t played much to really know the difference. All I can say is conference competition is no joke and there are so many great ball players scattered throughout the many teams.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
This would have to be the first game I played at the conference level. My first at bat in conference at the Vegas major last year was a pinch hit against Resmondo.  Ended up 2-3 that game.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
I can’t say just one. I have two people. My dad has had a huge impact on my life with softball. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t appreciate the game as much as I do. Then Ross Huebner pretty much threw me in and got me the chance to play at the conference level. Not to mention meeting me for BP every week, as well as throwing me BP even when he couldn’t hit because of surgery.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Stay humble and never stop learning.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Pinky drop and 1 finger overlap

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Take a break from softball for a few months, hunt, be with the family as much as possible, and workout.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
St. Louis Cardinals

Baseball and hunting are my two favorite sports besides softball.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Any benefit tourney. Love playing when the money is going towards someone in need. Also love the snowball in Denison TX, last year was my first year playing.  It was a blast seeing and playing against a ton of guys in the conference scattered around on many teams.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
I would have to say the Cincinnati major and the Smoky. The atmosphere alone makes going and playing better then any other place.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chick fil-a
