Who are you playing with in 2012?
Lethal

Why do you like the game of softball?
I like the competition and making new friends.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
I would have to go with Andy Purcell.  I know everyone puts him but after watching him get drilled at the major and stay in the game and still play as good as he does I have to give props!!

What is your nickname in softball?

I have a few, hey twin, Scott twin, J-smooth as Lee Payne calls me.

Where do you call home?
The big town of Jesup GA.

What do you do for a living?
I work for the Georgia department of transportation as a materials tech/ back up road profile operator

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?

I played football and baseball in high school.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?

Played a lot of local tournaments and then picked up with Drew with the frozen ropes in 09.  Down to earth sports has played a big role in my playing at that level!  Drew has turned Georgia softball around big time!!!

What position do you play?
I play a little bit of everywhere but not very good anywhere but catcher

What batting grip do you use?

I get my grip from the tennis section at our local walmart.

You were the homerun champion of the prestigious Smoky Mountain Classic and at one point hit 11 straight home runs!  What was it like to be in that kind of hitting "zone" and what does it mean to you to be listed in softball history for eternity amongst the greatest homerun hitters in the game?
It was the one tournament my brother couldn’t make so I had to hit for 2 of us that weekend.  It was great but I have to give credit to my team for showing the heart to get me that many at bats after losing the first game!

Who is a better hitter, you or your twin brother?
I would say me he would say him but he really means me!

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?

OFFSEASON?

What is your favorite sports team?
Bulldogs

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Are there any other sports besides softball?

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Don’t step on the chalk; don’t cross the bats (the bucket doesn’t count because it’s not in the dougout).  Always put my glove in the same spot (even though I can’t catch anyway)

What is your most memorable softball moment?
Winning the smoky home run title!  Filling this interview out ranks pretty high on my list too!

Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?

Well anything where you spit is a sport and anything where your use dice is a game, so I guess both
DW note: I once played in a tournament where the 3rd tie breaker to get into the double elimination round was a die roll and my team won.  The losing team went home.  True story.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I haven’t played upper level long enough to think of anything I would change.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?

I would have to go with Boones!

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?

I didn’t see it happen because I had my eyes closed but I would think me getting hit in the ear would have been pretty funny to see.
