What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Pitcher and 2nd Base

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
There are so many great players. One of my favorite will have to be Bryson Baker. He can play any position on the field and is as humble as can be.

Why do you like the game of softball?
It keeps my competitive edge complete and I get to meet alot of good people while having fun too.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
I really like Daniel Cayton (Bama). He had a really good first year in the conference and will continue to get better.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
JB – self explanatory

What is your height and weight?
5' 10" 205 lbs

Where do you call home?
Originally from Los Angeles but live in Norcal right now.

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Spending time with my kids whether it's taking them somewhere or helping them get better in their sports.

What do you do for a living?
Production Scheduler for a Biopharmaceutical company

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football and Track

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
A good friend of mine (Robbie Ramirez) got me to start playing league,  then tournaments, and it all escalated from there. My years in the conference have been with Bay Area Legends.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
How much more competitive the competition is and how much more the players actually care about getting better.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
There have been several but my most memorable would probably be winning ASA worlds with my Water Connection team a few years back. We scored 95 runs and had a total of 14 scored against us. So many great plays by the whole team. And of course me winning MVP made it even better.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Gotta be my man Robbie Ramirez! He has always critiqued ever aspect of what I do on the field from the day he met me and he is always willing to work on those things whenever I ask.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Keep working hard because someone is always watching!

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Standard grip

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Fortunate for me, California weather allows for year around play so there really is no off season.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Dodgers, Lakers, and 49ers – Favorite sport would have to be football.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Not really

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Kendrick Lamar – HUMBLE

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Floating rubber would be nice.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for Tots in Socal because everyone is out just having a good time.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Space Coast will be once they get some shade in the back fields.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Anywhere with steak or prime rib!

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
So for anyone that is familiar with Jose Canseco's famous catch that didn't happen because he was back against the wall and he missed the ball but it hit him in the head and went over the fence during a MLB game for a homerun………………I actually got to see him do the same thing on the softball field. It was absolutely hilarious!!

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
My favorite received gift was a 5 day trip to Arizona for Dodgers spring training.
