Catcher/DH

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Too many good ones to list.  Wegman/Helmer/Crine/JMac/Baumgardner/Dedonitis/Rulli/Purcell

Why do you like the game of softball?
Grew up playing baseball from T-ball thru high school.  Military got in the way of pursuing further.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Caesar Camarillo/Matt Fox OC Swats,  Broc Tooher,  Jake Conroy,  Marcus Thomas, Mike Pettibone, John Huffman (Wheeler Huff) etc etc. 

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Jimmy,  had since birth. 

What is your height and weight?
6'0" 270lbs

Where do you call home?
Phoenix, Arizona

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Time with family,  and batting practice

What do you do for a living?
Crane Technician 

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball/Football in HS. Enlisted in the army as a junior. 

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started playing league ball years ago, always hit the ball hard and was good in the outfield. Had a labrum surgery a few years ago and got into the weights harder after recovery. Got bigger/stronger and chose to push my hitting to an upper level. Played C utrip/ASA and want to go higher.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Consistency in great players.  Most all hit hard at that level and there's no bitching.  Faster paced and just a better game. 

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Matt Fox/Marcus Thomas/Alex Puskarich for the hitting side. 

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
T4T Palm springs 2014 .940 batting average. 

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
My father, and BP partners Marcus/Alex.  Always working on our swing.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Be humble, show your talent on the field, keep working. 

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Drop pinky on bottom hand, drop two on top hand.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Weights and BP

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Diamondbacks, Cardinals.  Gotta support the local teams.
Favorite is baseball.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
My approach to the batters box.  Getting loose. 

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
T4T in Palm Springs.  Just a lot of good teams and some big names out there. 

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Stadium at Disney

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chic Fil A

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Mike Pettibone bare handing a pop up in the outfield because he didn't care for the guy. 

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I've been lifting weights off and on since I was 13. 

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
Opening day home run ball I hit as a kid, givin to me in a trophy in front of a town meeting.  Pretty cool as a kid.

    Jimmy can hit the hit the ball hard on the field, off the field he is a stand up dude and would be a good addition to any team looking for power in their lineup.

    Jimmy is not only a quality human being he is very much a a team player with a HUGH desire and drive to win!!He possess the strength and ability (tremendous work and practice ethics)to drive the ball all over the park and go yard at anytime required!! A GREAT addition with ability to hit in the middle of any Line-up!!Class guy with tremendous love of the game!!
