Who are you playing with in 2012?
 Buzinisports.com

Why do you like the game of softball?
It gives me a chance to stay competitive.  I also use it as an excuse to stay in shape.  Most of all, it's the camaraderie of the team.  There's nothing like having guys around you that count on you and you count on them, on and off the field.   "Dudes taking BP with other dudes with their shirts off." lol

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
All Around: Wegman has been impressive every time I've seen him or played him.  He does whatever he wants out there.  Offensive: Helmer Defensive: Zirkle (I love watching a great infielder make plays, but Zirkle makes jaw droppers every game in the outfield.)

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
I've only played conference for two years, so I'm not sure who is still considered up and coming, but last year with R&M, Brian Zirkle and Nick Robertson (Noodle) stood out as great young talent and were a blast to play with.  You can't play the game any harder or with more heart than those two guys do. Great teammates.  The next big name hitter will be Shannon Smith out of Oklahoma..

What is your nickname in softball?
MayDay; Okie (Oklahoma); Rusty called me Mayo for a whole weekend, but I didn't answer to it too well and I think he was getting frustrated that I was ignoring him the whole time.  Haha I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!!

Where do you call home?
Norman, Oklahoma….  Boomer Sooner

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With my 2 boys, (Jackson 3 and Mason 1), we try to be lake bums as much as possible.

What do you do for a living?
Landman.  I own a small Oil and Gas Title Company in Norman.  We square away land ownership so that our clients can drill oil/gas wells all over the country.  Sounds boring, it is.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?  High School Baseball; College Baseball at Central Oklahoma and few short-short stints in Independent League but nothing to brag about.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I used to only play the 4th of July tourney in Norman every year with some friends from church.  Then I got picked up by the Saints, which is now Evicted, a C team out of Oklahoma, to play the state tourney.  Then I got picked up by RentKing (C) to play the whole 2010 season.  Then through some of the teams we played against, I got invited to play with Gold's Gym (B conference) in 2011.  When they broke up, DW put me in touch with R&M Metals, and I finished the year ( Conference Tourney and on..) with them.  Then I was asked to be part of 4theFallen/3n2 for the 2012 season.

I would like to thank Kelly Webb (RentKing), Corey Butcher (Gold's Gym) and Rob Humphreys; Jim Troupe and Roger Tompkins (R&M Metals/Troupe/Easton) for everything they have done and provided for me.  I'm very grateful.  Once you have a taste of upper softball, it's hard to turn back, and these guys made it everything I expected.  I am also looking forward to 2012 with 4theFallen/3n2.  This a very respectable and talented group of guys, and it's a pleasure to be on the same field with them, working toward a good cause.  I could never do what most of these guys do/have already done for our country…  Let's roll fellas!!

What was the best advice you were ever given?
Let your game do your talking.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Play the game the right way and play it hard.  If your talent is there someone will give you a shot, then just do you.

What position do you play?
SS, MI and some 3rd base.  But I'll pitch if asked to..

What batting grip do you use?
Pinky off and 1 finger overlap.

What ounce bat do you use?
27oz balanced

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I lift 5 days a week and cardio about 30 mins 4 times a week.  I run in some benefit Marathon relays, preparing for those gets me ready for the season.

What is your favorite sports team?
St. Louis Cardinals, and ask anyone, I've been a fan since birth, not just this year!

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Baseball and Thunder Basketball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Don't step on foul lines, and I spray my bat before every at bat, even if it doesn't need it.

What is your most memorable softball moment?
Winning Conference Championship A Bracket with R&M last year.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Anything AC/DC or Zac Brown Band

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Quit griping about improving it and hype it up.  It's a great game, but the Debbie-downers that always talk bad about bats, floating rubbers and
umpires just cause everyone to get on the bandwagon about all of softball's problems.  Everyone just get better and maybe we can start beating Resmondo straight up…. haha

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Toys for Tots, just did it and loved it!

What is the best softball field you have played at and why?
The BLD in Mansfield Texas is about as good as it gets.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Wendy's…  Old college habit.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
We were at an unlimited tourney in Enid, Oklahoma.  A guy on our team (140 lbs) Ooooped a big HR.  The other teams coach said something about the
bat and our guy just kept trotting right over into their dugout, held out the bat and said "It's for sale!!"  The coach pulled out $200 cash
and paid him right there in front of the dugout.  They proceeded to dominate us with our own bat for the rest of the game.  It was funny, but maybe a bonehead move in hindsight.
