Who are you playing with in 2021, and who have you played with in the past?
2021 Free Agent – jzar224@lasierra.edu

Played with Product and Apc both B teams out of socal

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Pitcher

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
There are a ton of amazing players in the conference but I love how
Ryan and chent play defense, best in the business and they are local guys

Why do you like the game of softball?
That competition is a blast

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Nick day out Az hits the ball well

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Don’t really have one but some call me jz from back in my baseball days

What is your height and weight?
5’10 200

Where do you call home?
Southern California

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With family

What do you do for a living?
I work at a hotel as a supervisor

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball in high school

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing church league with my dad, then joined forces with Mike Nino and worked on my game and have been mostly local B teams after that

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The speed of the game and consistent the hitting is

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
No, but I have had some awesome mentors throughout

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
I would say playing with JB bailey he was such great mentor and also he helped me develop as pitcher. We also had plenty of upsets last year at the few conference events we were able to attend

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Again I would say JB just because of the impact he made in the year of being his teammate

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
I don’t have this answer because I am that young player trying to take that next step up

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Overlap pinky off

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I hit, and also practice pitching and occasional fielding

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
NY Mets, baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
No but if a team gets a new set of uniforms and you lose the first game then it was the uniforms fault

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Idk

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I think trying to get more west coast talent to join it

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for tots in Palm Springs, the environment is awesome and big crowds

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Probably worlds in Florida I just like the park

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Buffalo wild wings

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Too many memories to count

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I am getting my masters
