Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Connell/Buddy Wolf/Pearson – I like the way these guys play the game
Why do you like the game of softball?
I like to compete and like to travel to different places
Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
may be a little biased but it's true: Tanai Alston, Greg Hawkins, Myself – We put in countless hours at the field every week
What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Pup – I've always been one of the younger guys on every team I've been on
What is your height and weight?
6'0, 185lbs
Where do you call home?
Morgantown, West Virginia
What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Outdoors hunting, fishing and with my family
What do you do for a living?
Respiratory Therapist
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball/basketball/golf in high school
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started out locally then met Tom Bradley. He gave me a great opportunity with All In. We starting out playing C and we worked our way.
What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
the pitching and defense is better at the conference level
Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I don't compare myself to people. I just work hard and try to be the best player/teammate possible
What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
3 world championships within the past 2 seasons are definitely my career highlights
In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
My dad – I grew up traveling and watching him play softball. He taught me how to play the game the right way
What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Work Hard. Nothing is given to you so you have to put the time in when no one is watching
What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
traditional grip, 26oz
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
go to the Gym and hit off a tee and in the cages. It's an addiction!
What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, Penguins. Love watching Football
Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
I do the same routine before every at bat
What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Kanye West – Champions
What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I don't see any changes that need made
What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
The Duals and the smokey – love the atmosphere
What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
The orlando, Fl complexes are always nice and Myrtle Beach is all turf. Can't get any better than those places
Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chick-fil-a
What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
I felt bad but I still laugh thinking about last year when I line drived one of my teammates standing on 2nd. His reaction was priceless, sorry Paul!
Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I have 2 little dogs that drive me crazy
What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
My wife bought me a fat head of myself for my birthday lol and my family made me a pitching screen for BP
