Who are you playing with in 2012?

Why do you like the game of softball?
The game I enjoy, because today players are much more competitive, and you meet friends for life.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Best player I've played with is Shay Cooper who was and still one of the best who turned down major ball many times.  Secondly is Anthony Defranseco(Defran) Great teammate and is a winner.

What is your nickname in softball?

Where do you call home?
Marion, MS is home

What do you do for a living?
High School baseball coach

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played football 3 years, basketball 2 years and baseball for 4 years in high school and 3 years in college was lucky enough to be all-region my sophmore year.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I came home from college and picked up with a local team named photo classified and played with my buddies my 1st tournament was in 1998 and we won the usssa D national.  I was clueless about mens softball, but it seemed then easy.  Started playing with the scene in 2003 and it all started from there with a great run.

What position do you play?

What batting grip do you use?
baseball grip i still use to swing

What ounce bat do you use?
swing a the endload

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
At 35 practicing with my players daily keeps you in shape, hit the weight room and try to eat better.

What is your favorite sports team?
New York Yankees

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Baseball is my first love and to coach great kids everyday.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
My greatest moment was in 2006 playing with the scene we won the B ASA World in OKC and in winter haven we won the ISA playing 12 games back to back.

Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?
To me its a game. Anybody today can hit something thrown underhanded.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Upper level could have better restrictions on players because today its whoever has the biggest payroll wins the worlds, also usssa would be better served if an outside source was hired by all teams in the conference to monitor bat testing

Favorite Non-World Tournament i enjoy is the space city.  Hutch does a great job.

Funniest moment i can think of many.  If you only knew Tony Albicocco like i did and been with him you would see moments you never seen with what he may say or do.  He played one time in miami with us and lead us in hitting, and to add to that he had both pockets on his jacket full of cash holding it as he ran the bases.
