What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Pitcher. Pitching is what I specialize in. 1st base

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
I’ve seen them all play. I pay close attention to Andy Purcell-Travis Clark-flip Washington-Kyle Pearson.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I’ve always loved the game! It’s a passion of mine. I’ve played since I could remember. First it was baseball then it transformed into softball. It’s a outlet that I need. Love traveling and playing competitive ball.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Dale Swinford- he’s a true baller, very humble, he puts the work in day in and day out. Great hands! Great stick! He’s going places.

Josh Tallent- dude is a stud! He’s going places also

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Chuckie it’s been with me ever since I was a boy.

What is your height and weight?
6’4-210

Where do you call home?
Pleasant hill, CA

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Hanging with my family. Taking the dogs to the park. Relaxing at home.

What do you do for a living?
I own a glass business.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played in high school. Moorfield high. Vanden high.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I used to ride my bike to go watch my dad play at Nelson park in Vacaville,ca.  He still playing lol.

I started playing with my dad once I got old enough. Once I started to play, people started to ask me to come play on the weekends. I fell in love and started to really work on my game.  I had the amazing opportunity to play with L&S glass. I loved every minute of it.  I’ve played a lot of upper ball and believe that’s where I belong.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The players- the size-how much harder they hit the ball.
everyone on the field is a baller.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Winning usssa worlds with Snapd. Getting MVP.
Theres a lot lol..

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Coach jimmy. It’s how I started to pitch. Our pitcher didn’t show up to one of our tournaments. Coach asked everyone who knows how to pitch and no one says anything. I tell him that I pitched in league before and walked 8 guys in a row.. lol. Well he put me on the mound and we won the national event and I never left the mound after that. Before this I was the 3rd basemen.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Gotta put in the work. You have to want it. Every upper player I know works on there game.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Pinky’s interlocked, one finger off bat

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Hit the gym, tee work,bp,play in as many off Sean’s tourneys as I can. I try and play league also

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
I would have to say football. Ravens all day.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Yes. I cross out the mound every game I start. Way of asking god to protect me and keep me light on my feet. Lol

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Drake- believe me

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Before it was that not enough talent got seen and moved up. But now the last couple years the game has changed a lot. A lot of new teams, a lot of players being brought up. So I think its going in the right direction.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for tots-palm springs
It’s where you get a lot of really good teams. See a lot of your friends and who they are going to be playing with.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Space coast- Oklahoma
