2020 Free Agent – cbbergqui@yahoo.com

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Outfield

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
I have seen many good ones around the conference hard to pick just one.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I am a competitor. I love playing with and against other athletes who have a passion for the game.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Jonathan Sierra. I have watched him his whole career and the sky is the limit for him.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
CB. Pretty self explanatory, not too much imagination!

What is your height and weight?
6 FT 200 LBS

Where do you call home?
Grand Junction, Colorado

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Spending time with my family

What do you do for a living?
Chief Financial Officer for an NPO

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
High School only.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I just started in league and got picked up to play local tournaments. Went to a couple state tournaments with my local D teams and met people from there.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
By far pitching. I never realized until playing conference what a difference a good pitcher makes to get hitters off balance.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Not really. I am a left handed thrower and right handed hitter so not many of those.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
I would say our back to back Sunday finishes last year in the Dallas and Colorado majors. 4th and 2nd back to back weekends as a B team.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
I can't think of one single. Many players have taught me about the game.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Meet people and network. I did not do enough of it as I am sort of an introvert.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
baseball grip or pinky over if hitting for power. 26 oz bat.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I am a gym rat.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Denver Broncos and football.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
No

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
I didn't make the big leagues so don't need walk up song.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Finding a way to recruit up and coming talent. I think it can be hard to break down that wall and there are many good players who could take off with a chance.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Houston Major. I think it has a great atmosphere and the weather is typically nice if not raining.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Disney. Probably not the nicest actual complex but that felt like Worlds to me. Still adjusting to Viera even though the playing surface is very nice.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
In and Out.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
A guy getting ejected, sitting Indian style on 2nd base, and refusing to leave. When he did finally leave, he took 2nd with him.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
Avid Bronco fan.

I would play with CB any day of the week. He will literally run through a wall for his team. Super clutch at the plate as well. Hope he lands somewhere as he can help any team.
