         – T's 13/Monsta/Ductech (Corky's / Minnesota Open State / USA B National)

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Primary position is 3rd base.  Spend a lot of time at 2nd over the last couple years.  Ability to play anywhere on the infield if needed and can be an emergency OF if necessary.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Who knows.  The easy answer is Andy Purcell, but there's a ton of dudes that are great players that could have arguments made for them.

Why do you like the game of softball?
Standard answer as most I would assume:  once baseball was over, my competitive nature had to have something to keep going.  It's something to constantly try to improve upon not just physically, but understanding how to play the game and situations as well.

In the words of White Goodman "I like to break a mental sweat too"

What is your height and weight?
6'0   215

Where do you call home?
Liberty, MO (Kansas City)

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Probably just relaxing at home catching up on things.  But I have a hard time staying off the field, so those who know me can usually find a way on Thursday or Friday to talk me into playing that weekend.

What do you do for a living?
I work for a business software and advertising company in Kansas City

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball 4 years in high school and a cup of coffee while in college

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started out just playing league, formed a tournament team with some of my buddies and another group that played tournaments.  Just played hard and tried to make my way up the ranks.  I had and opportunity in 2014 to move to conference ball but didn't pull the trigger.  Ever since then just been working my way through the ranks, associating myself with good team mates and good coaches/sponsors that had similar goals.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The defensive skill level and the speed of the game.  It's not even close.  Everyone is a really good ball player, and especially on defense the players make it look so easy.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Not really.  I observe players everywhere I play.  I take bits and pieces from peoples games to improve mine, both their physical playing ability as well as their on-field intellect.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
We made a fantastic run to finish 4th at C world last year, which was the best year of my softball career.

Finished in the top 12 this year at B world which was another good run.

To have back to back top 12 finishes with a team that, 4 years ago at it's inception not many people wanted to be apart of, is a pretty incredible feeling.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
No.

There's been a ton.  To name a few: Barry Fentiman, Randy Cook, and Mitch Loomis

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Standard grip, 27 ounce

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
The standard: hit BP and hit the gym.  Get my body healthy for the season.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Chicago Cubs on the team.  I'm big on basketball, both college and NBA.  I like to watch college football.  I like to watch Sunday golf as well – must see TV with Tiger back in the hunt!

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
No, not really.  I'll build some superstitious habits with team mates, but that's a year to year thing.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Pimp Juice

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Vanguard Draft Tournament – no one will know what that is but it's an unbelievable experience.  Pick me up and i'll explain!

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Any of the BLD parks are always great to play on.  When it comes to dirt, the show field at the Dudley is hard to beat.

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
It's between my Shamrock Slam ring and receiving the #2 overall seed in a secret bracket at worlds this past year.

Still making my decision.

  1. no comment says:

Easily one of the best teammates to have always about the team in every situation. This is a very talented player who can play most places on the infield. He has power and hits to any place on the field. But most importantly like I stated before hes a team player which is very hard to find now days. Someone needs to pick up Cash because he will be a huge addition to your team on defense and offense.
