What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Utility. SS and CF are main positions but can hold it down anywhere really well.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Mitch Carriger, Jason Magnum, Rob Taylor

Why do you like the game of softball?
Grew up playing baseball. Get to run around like a little kid again and compete!

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
LC Berry. 22 years old with raw power and holds MM down extremely well. Out of Georgia

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Gibby. Just from last name.

What is your height and weight?
6'1" 195lbs

Where do you call home?
Home now is Atlanta, GA. Grew up in southern Illinois

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Usually doing some form of activity outside like golf, tennis..or hitting more softballs

What do you do for a living?
Invented Great Ape Grips. Also own a pressure washing company

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball at Central Arizona College, Indiana University and then was drafted in the 7th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Just started playing last year. Been working my way up from performing and knowing people in the area.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Have only played in a couple local conference events here in Atlanta. The patience at the plate is what stands out to me the most.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
To be honest, I dont know enough players to truly compare myself.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Softball career is very short. But winning USSSA State last year at Lakepoint. Also winning all tournament team at WSL Worlds last year.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Josh "Cinco" Rhoades. He has really showed me how to play the game at the next level and what it takes to play and stay there.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Compete at 100% every play and to notice your flaws.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
No batting gloves with baseball grip. Using at 27 Oz currently

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Bulk up in the gym. Work on my first step. Constant swings and ground balls.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. Baseball and hockey are the main sports I follow.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Probably too many to list. But I guess you could say my whole routine throughout the day when playing, has to be the same.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Always will be a fan favorite. Some form of pop of hip hop

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Lakepoint in Georgia. Brand new, all turf and baseball fields.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chick-Fil-A if still playing. Local sports bar after the day of wins.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Has to be when the umpires get into it for a strikeout call.
