Last couple years I’ve played low levels of ball winning E worlds my first year playing softball and playing D’s all year last year. Got bumped to C rating so now looking for opportunities in C division

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
CF left handed with a lot of speed and very good knowledge of the position.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Brandon Newton

Why do you like the game of softball?
I lost the chance to play at a young age due to a ATV accident and when I found slow pitch
Softball it changed my life gave me the peace that I found in baseball.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
CJ Castro. Kid on the west coast who has a lot of potential.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Speedy

What is your height and weight?
5’8 160lbs

Where do you call home?
Originally from Hernando Mississippi moved to Irvine California 3 years ago

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With the girlfriend and her kids enjoying the weekend and BBQ with friends and family.

What do you do for a living?
HVAC is my profession but currently looking to become a business owner to a sporting gym.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played all the way up until my senior year in high which I was hurt and never got to play a game again for 8 year until I dropped the drugs and found life back.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Some friends were telling me I should come play because I wasn’t having fun playing in lower levels of adult baseball and once I started playing I couldn’t stop all the way until here I have a unconditional love for the game that I don’t get anywhere else.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The ways the guys know what they are doing they know if they want to hit somewhere they have that bat control but they also know how to control the game a lot better in uppers than they do in lowers tend to get out of hand guys can’t handle middle shots guys think it’s okay just to talk shit while your batting thinking a guy won’t do anything but in lowers they will start and all out brawl in uppers you have people who will control the situation and handle it a lot better

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Playing in the world championship after getting benched by a different team who took 2nd in the tourney and we ended up taking first in the world tourney they took 2nd in the USSSA we won 1st in GSL.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Nikko a good friend of mine when I first started playing took notice to me and saw something that most people didn’t and took me to hitting lessons and got my swing down and got me comfortable hitting

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Just be yourself. The game can get stressful as it is but being yourself not trying too much will help carry you long ways.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
26 oz bat Louisville and I use custom tape grip that I do myself.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Hitting , workout, hitting. Gotta work on areas where I need lots of improvements

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Atlanta braves & baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Never gotten a new belt and still bring my childhood glove with me everywhere I go

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Situation – the kid Laroi

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I think the upper levels is in a pretty good stand still now lower ball could use a lot on the west coast not many teams want to play above the D level.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for tots. Tourney that has a huge meaning and cause behind it.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Space coast stadium the Mercedes’ Benz of softball got to play there and on the big stadium and I’ve played on a couple minor league fields in high school and they compare just as nice to them.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Sonic is my go to

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
A live footage of me running into the fence knocking myself out cold

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
That I’m very ambitious in the stuff I do. Anything I put my mind to doing I give it 1,000 percent and try my hardest to make sure it gets done and gets done effectively.
