2022- Bay Area Legends, currently a free agent

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
C/DH

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Best players would be my Pops, Sean Boldt, Brian Lipman, Dennis Rulli, and Billy Messina. I guess they are more inspirational. Steven Lloyd too

Why do you like the game of softball?
I just like to be competitive and have played sports my whole life.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Johnny Castaneda who is the Classic Glass SS this year, Brian Dean is one of the best outfielders I have ever played with, and not sure he is really up and coming but Mateo Pacheco. He is one of the best pitchers I have ever played with.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Smylie, just my last name

What is your height and weight?
6ft 240lbs

Where do you call home?
Simi Valley, CA

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With my wife or shooting guns

What do you do for a living?
Electrician

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football and Wrestling in high school, football in college.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
My dad got me started, and upper level was probably because of Sean Boldt.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The overall talent level and competitiveness of the games. 

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Billy Messina, Dennis Rulli, Sean Boldt, Brian Lipman, my dad, and Brett Helmer were all great teachers to learn from. 

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Move to the east coast and work harder than you are.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
28oz, pinky off on each hand

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Take BP

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Bigger tournaments on the west coast

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for Tots, my family gets to come and hang out.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Legacy, the new park in AZ. That place is just amazing.

    Adam flat out kills the ball. Hits hit a country mile. Plays hard and has a true passion for the game. Works his butt off taking BP and in the gym. Will be a great addition to any team especially one looking for stadium power. Good luck my friend! BTW stop lying about your weight!!!!
