The 36th Annual Dudley is this coming Friday – Sunday in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota outside of Minneapolis.  This year there are 27 teams including 8 from the Nationwide Conference USSSA.

The 'AA' teams Racks, TDB, Nightmare, and Xtreme will be the favorites with hometown 'A' teams like Chanticlear Pizza taking a shot at the upset.  The tournament began in 1983 as a charity event by Warren Bellm and has been the showcase of Minnesota softball for 35 years.  Warren has retired and Scott Brown has taken over the tournament.  Here is a recent news show about the event.  There is also a 5 team women's conference event playing.

USSSA will stream the main two fields only on USSSALive.com as much as possible and the chat room will be up.  I don't know how the stream will hold up in the expected 98 degree heat.

Thursday there are all star games followed by the annual home run derby!

Weekend Weather looks warm

Shea Nations Picks:

This weekend at the Dudley/Budweiser Classic Major NIT in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota will have 26 teams and 8 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance including 0 major, 4 AA, 3 A, 1 B and 18 local teams. TDB/FAI/Klutch/Miken is the #1 overall seed.  The other teams looking to get the win without any major teams present are: Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon; NIGHTMARE / MIKEN; and RACK'S/WORTH ASTROS/KLUTCH/TROUPE.

Dudley Predictions:  The final 4 undefeated should be a preview of AA Worlds: Nightmare versus Xtreme and TDB versus Rack's.   In the losers bracket we could see some upsets from local Minneapolis teams Chanticlear/J&H/P5/JEC/Miken-Worth and T'S 13/MONSTA/DUCTECH.

Shea's Final Picks for the Dudley Major:
1. Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon
2. RACK'S/WORTH ASTROS/KLUTCH/TROUPE
3. TDB/FAI/Klutch/Miken
4. NIGHTMARE / MIKEN
5. Chanticlear/J&H/P5/JEC/Miken-Worth
    T'S 13/MONSTA/DUCTECH.
