The 13th Border Battle comes to Ohio this Friday through Sunday at Brookside Park in Cleveland and pit Team USA vs Canada for both men's and women's slow pitch.  Exhibition games start at 9:00 AM eastern time on Friday, July 28th and games play throughout the weekend with Team USA taking on Canada in the final game on Sunday at 11:30 AM.  Team Canada has won the big game 2 times in 12 tries. 

The big games are:

   1:15 PM Friday – Women's USA vs USA Futures

   2:30 PM Friday – Women's Futures vs Canada

   2:45 PM Saturday – Women's Futures vs Canada

   4:00 PM Saturday – Men's USA Futures vs Canada

   6:45 PM Saturday – Men's USA vs Futures

   10:00 AM Sunday – Women's USA vs Canada

   11:30 AM Sunday – Men's USA vs Canada

The weather looks warm Friday and there is rain in the forecast for Saturday but Sunday looks great for the Border Battle.  I (DW) will be there collecting video and picture content and the chat room will be up here on Softball Center to discuss it or answer questions.  The Cleveland Zoo is less than a mile from the park and of course the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is downtown, the Guardians host the White Sox each day, and the night life in the Flats are all close by.

The Playing Fields

The Talty Field at the Brookside Reservation is an all turf baseball field with 315-355-365-355-315 dimensions.

So it is a little bit bigger than the Smoky main field at Sand Springs park.

The two other fields are dirt and natural grass fields around 300 feet.  There are 4 games played on the 2nd field.

Weekend Weather looks like a warm Friday but cooling off Saturday and Sunday with a chance of rain on Saturday.

Here is the roster for one of the exhibition teams – Ohio Select
