Tournament Preview

2021 Myrtle Beach Major Bracket and Teams Link

The 2nd Myrtle Beach Major presented by Smash It Sports is this coming weekend.  It features an incredible field of 18 Women's teams who are playing a Dual event with the first tournament starting Friday morning at 9 AM and ending Friday night.  The second women's dual starts Saturday morning and ends with 4 teams coming back on Sunday.   All 5 Women's Major teams will be there!  The men's event is also pretty stacked with 22 teams overall and 16 of them are from Conference USSSA including 3 Major and 3 AA teams.  The men's tournament starts on Friday at 5:30 PM eastern and brings back 4 teams on Sunday.  The tournament is held on the 7 – 325 foot fields at beautiful Grand Park with the normal 8-12-16 home run limits and the Dudley Pro-M ball.  The fields are artificial turf except for the pitchers mound and batters box which is dirt.  The weather looks pretty good with winds picking up on Sunday.

The livestream is going to be done by Grand Parks own streaming equipment which USSSAlive.com will tie in to.  USSSALive.com and the chat room on softballcenter.com will be up for updates and to answer your questions.

Resmondo got on a roll in the 2nd half of last weekends Texas Major and their offense is by far and away the best in the game so far this year so they are the favorites.  But Andy Purcell will be back pitching for Smash It Sports and they should be right there.  SNI and Sports Reach lead the 'AA' contenders and MPT Rentals the other Major team in the tournament looks to get on track.

And Happy Mother's Day to all of the women in our lives that let us play this silly game!

Shea Nations picks

This weekend at the Battle at the Beach Major NIT in Myrtle Beach, SC will have 22 teams and 15 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance including 3 major, 3 AA, 7 A, 7 B, 1 C and 1 D team.  Resmondo/Smash It/Menosse/Thunder is the #1 overall seed after their win last weekend in Texas.  The other teams looking to upset the #1 seed or favorite are: SmashItSports/Newbreed/TDB/RF/BD/T3; MPT Rentals/Juno Athletics; and SNI/Thunder/Chosen/DeMarini.

South Carolina Predictions:  I predict the final 4 undefeated to be: Smash It Sports versus SNI and Resmondo versus Sports Reach.  Resmondo and Smash It Sports should make it to the championship.  In the loser's bracket, look for Albicocco/Riot/Klutch/Broughton to make a run after losing its first game to S & E ENTERPRISE/WORSHAM NC.  Also, look for CompetitiveEdge/OlmitoHeat/Adiktiv to make it to the 5th place game after losing to Sports Reach/Worth/CT/Grizzy in the Elite 8.

Shea's Final Picks for the South Carolina Major:
1. SmashItSports/Newbreed/TDB/RF/BD/T3
2. Resmondo/Smash It/Menosse/Thunder
3. SNI/Thunder/Chosen/DeMarini
4. MPT Rentals/Juno Athletics
5. Sports Reach/Worth/CT/Grizzy
    CompetitiveEdge/OlmitoHeat/Adiktiv

Old Scout polers are flocking to Resmondo!
