The 2021 USSSA 'AA' World Tournament will be played this coming Sunday and Monday, October 3-4 at the Space Coast complex in Viera, Florida.  There are 19 teams total and they will battle it out double elimination style to crown a deserving champion.  The tournament starts at 3 PM Eastern time on Sunday and the tournament will be played on the White quad with its 325 foot fences and the Stadium with a temporary fence set at 325.  There are 6 'AA' teams and 12 'A' teams and they come from 14 different states.

Upsets were the norm the last 3 years in the 'AA'.  Last year Maroadi who was not even considered a top 'A' team won the 'AA' winning 3 games on walk off home runs!

Upper Level USSSA Worlds are most often won by teams with twice as many in class wins as losses.  This years 'AA' has only one such team and that is S&E but they suffered a big injury to their shortstop Joel Sanchez who injured his knee at the Military Worlds and won't be able to play.  S&E was also the top offensive team statistically in the conference but SNI was the top AA team finishing second in the Conference Computer Rankings!  Then there is Precision who finished the year strong and Sports Reach who won the Hall of Fame Classic Dual #1.  So it is an interesting event.  Tune in.

The USSSA 'AA' World Tournament is played with Nationwide Conference rules – no floating rubber, foul on second strike is an out, and a 12 home run limit.  Fences are 325 feet and the Dudley Pro M ball will be used but I have not had confirmation on that.  Scores should be very low.

This weekend the AA World Tournament will take place in Viera, FL while only 19 teams will be in attendance all from the Nationwide Conference USSSA and will include 6 AA teams and 13 A/B teams.  The #1 overall seed SNI/Thunder/Chosen/DeMarini will try to win and gain momentum for next weekend’s Major World Series.  The other teams looking to upset the favorite are: S & E/FRIENDLYS TRANS/WORSHAM; Sports Reach/Worth/CT/Grizzy and Precision/3rd St./Red Athlete/Pure.

Shea's Predictions:  Since AA teams match up in the 1st and 2nd Rounds this will allow an A team to make it to the final 4 undefeated.  So, the final 4 undefeated should be Sports Reach versus Precision and Nightmare versus S&E.  Nightmare/Benefit the Badge will continue its hot streak from A World’s and Precision will feed off its Conference Championship Victory to make it to the undefeated game.  In the loser’s bracket, I predict that SNI to make it back to the championship game after it’s Elite 8 loss to Precision.
