The Sooner Invitational was played in 90 degree heat and started on Friday night with 3 Conference teams and 12 A/B teams overall.  In the top part of the 21 team double elimination bracket Legion of Boom/DFW Sports from Texas upset Seminoles/TPS/NACSF.INC/Elite/Miken by 1 run (30-29) in the quarterfinals on Saturday morning and then beat J&R Logistics/Mayhem 24-11 in the semifinals before upsetting a hot hitting Vivid/FBI/PTG Arkansas team 24-7.  Vivid had scored 91 runs in their two games on Friday night.  In the loser's bracket which played out all day Saturday in the heat, Greenspace/Nallys a non-conference 'B' team won 5 straight games in the top of the bracket and Seminoles won 5 straight including wins over Greenspace and Vivid to make it back to the championship where they ran out of gas and lost to the upstart Legion of Boom 36-29.  Non Conference teams rarely win Conference events and Legion of Boom becomes the first team since Empire out of Louisiana won the Busch in 2018 to do so.

On the women's side the teams finished in classification order as Trader's Reloaded/Klutch beat Greenspace in the winner's final and the championship of the 6 team event.

 

1st Place – Legion of Boom/DFW Sports (TX-B)

2nd Place – Seminoles/TPS/NACSF.INC/Elite/Miken (OK-A)

 


 

Women's Major Results

 

Fields were 300 feet and the Dudley Pro-M ball was used with 8 to 12 HR depending on the class of the teams.

If there was a Conference 'A' team in the game 12 HR were used otherwise 8 HR.
