2019 Myrtle Beach Major Bracket and Teams Link

The 1st ever Myrtle Beach Major presented by Pure Sports is this coming weekend. It features 8 Women's teams who are playing a Dual event with the first tournament starting Friday morning at 10 AM and ending Friday night. The second women's dual starts Saturday morning and ends with 4 teams coming back on Sunday. Half of the 8 Women's teams are classified 'AA' and 7 of the 8 are 'A' or higher. The men's event is one of the bigger Conference tournaments of the year with 19 Conference teams in attendance including all 4 Major teams and 28 teams total. The men's tournament starts on Friday at 5:30 PM eastern and brings back 4 teams on Sunday. The tournament is held on the 7 – 325 foot fields at beautiful Grand Park with the normal 8-12-16 home run limits and the Classic M ball. The fields are artificial turf except for the pitchers mound and batters box. There is a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday but the temperatures look great for softball and it should be one of the better events of the year, both men's and women's. The tournament winner on the men's side will earn 150 + (19 x 4) = 226 points.

TDB has been the best team in the early part of the season but they haven't played in almost a month. Dan Smith looked strong at the Hall of Fame Classic and Resmondo looked really good last weekend winning the St. Louis Major. Pure Sports looks to rebound but are still playing short handed with injuries and players missing for work reasons. There should be an opportunity for a 'AA' team to make a run at this as well. The tournament was seeded by 2019 Conference points with Pure Sports earning the #1 seed, Resmondo the #2, Nightmare #3, TDB #4, and Dan Smith #7. The 325 foot home run fences should make for some interesting strategy as the fence distances are similar to Fortune Road or the Viera (White) softball quad and will make teams think about free swinging early in the game, especially if wind near the ocean is a factor.

For years softball players have said the Conference should come to the Grand Park fields at Myrtle Beach and now we are here! They did have one rule we had to adhere to and that was you have to have a minimum of 8 teams per day to open the park so that is why 4 women's teams and 4 men's teams had to come back on Sunday.

This weekend the Pure Sports Major has moved from Atlanta, GA to Myrtle Beach, SC and will have 28 teams and 19 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance including 4 major, 5 AA, 9 A, 1 B and 7 local teams. Pure Sports is the #1 overall seed by points but Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto is the favorite to win. TDB/Racks/Athlon and Dan Smith/Menosse/Steven Smith/FAI are looking to upset the favorite.

Pure Sports Battle at the Beach Predictions: With 2 major teams in the same part of the bracket this will allow an AA team to steal points and slip into the Top 4. I predict the Final 4 to be Xtreme versus Resmondo and TDB versus Pure. I expect Resmondo to beat Xtreme and get revenge on TDB from the Sin City and Dual Tournaments. In the losers bracket, Dan Smith will fight back to the 3rd place game after falling to Resmondo in the Elite 8.
