2019 USSSA Major World Series Bracket Link

The 2019 USSSA Men's Major World Series begins Wednesday, September 18th at 9:00 AM with two "play in games" on the back fields and the rest of the games scheduled for the stadium.  The tournament will be played at the Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida with its 325-365-385-365-325 field dimensions and the Dudley Stadium ZN ball.  The tournament features 18 of the top teams in the nation, 16 of which were the top 16 teams in the Nationwide Conference USSSA point standings, plus Sports Reach who is the #17 seed after they qualified by being the highest non-qualified Conference 'A' team at the USSSA 'A' Worlds two weeks ago who accepted the berth after Premier and TPJS/Seminoles turned it down, and the #18 seed Militia/Treedem who qualified by winning the USSSA Military Worlds back in August.  The two "play in" games and all of the first round games are played on Wednesday and then Thursday the winner's bracket continues with the final 8, the home run derby, and then the final 4 plus the first 2 loser's bracket games.  On Friday the loser's bracket plays all day and the winner's bracket finals are on Friday night.  On Saturday the final 8 teams remaining will battle it out to crown the new champion.  If you cannot be there then tune in for all the action on USSSALive.com!

Resmondo is the #2 seed but are the heavy favorite to win the Major having won the Smoky, Seattle Dual #2, Columbus Major, and Conference Championships all on the big fields.  Resmondo is also healthy and has the most consistent power through the entire lineup of any team.  #1 seeded TDB/Racks who won the regular season points championships also won Dual #2 of the Hall of Fame Classic on this very baseball field and with Andy Purcell pitching is always a threat.  TDB is missing backup infielder Reno Malay and starting shortstop AJ Montano may have to leave for the birth of a child (Congratulations!).  #3 seeded Dan Smith also has a shot as they won HOF Dual #1 on this very field back in April and also was runner up to Resmondo at the Conference Championships 3 weeks ago after beating them once.  The 'AA' teams have a shot at pulling some upsets as well – teams like Bay Area Legends, Precision, and Thunder have all had wins over top major teams in big tournaments this year.

The USSSA Major is an unlimited home run event.  The Home Run Derby is set for Thursday night at 7:00 PM.

Shea Nations picks!

This week the Major World Series has the Top 16 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance with all 4 major teams, 8 AA, 4 A, the highest finishing team at A worlds not already qualified and the Military World Champion team playing with unlimited homeruns at the Space Coast Complex in Viera, FL.  The Conference USSSA point leader and #1 overall seed TDB/Racks/Athlon  is the favorite to win. The other teams looking to upset the favorite are: preseason favorite Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto; Dan Smith/Menosse/Steven Smith/FAI and Pure Sports.

Shea's Major World Series Predictions:  I predict 8 of 9 top seeds to win in the first round and all 4 major teams to win by the run rule.  So, the Elite 8 should be Nightmare versus Dan Smith, Resmondo versus Xtreme, Thunder versus TDB and Pure versus Bay Area.  The Final Four undefeated will be 3 of 4 major teams and Shea Nation's pick for the AA World champion. Setting the stage for the game we have been waiting all season, Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto versus TDB/Racks/Athlon in the undefeated game.  Can the pitching of Andy Purcell limit the power hitters of Resmondo on the big field?  In the loser's bracket, the Elite 8 teams will win their next game matching Pure versus Thunder and Xtreme versus Nightmare for 7th place.  With Xtreme and Pure moving on to face the losers of the Final Four for 5th place.  Dan Smith should beat Pure and Bay Area to make it back to Resmondo to play for 3rd place.  Resmondo beats Dan Smith again setting the rematch with TDB for the Major World Series Championship.

Shea's Final Picks for the Major World Series:
1. TDB/Racks/Athlon
2. Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto
3. Dan Smith/Menosse/Steven Smith/FAI
4. BayArea/Rapid Fire/Bad Draw/Easton

The 2019 Major World Series Teams!

#1 NC-Major – TDB/Racks/Athlon – TDB is 14-10 vs Major teams this year and definitely the most likely to push Resmondo at the Major.  By earning the #1 seed they won't run into Resmondo or Dan Smith until Friday night if they can avoid an upset and that should give them a chance to win it from the winners or losers bracket.

#2 FL-Major – Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto/Sprizzi/Easton – Resmondo is 17-8 this year against the Major division and the heavy favorite to repeat as Major champions.  They have the most consistent power throughout the lineup, last years league MVP Travis Clark on the mound, and they seem to be the only team that can truly step on the gas when they need to on the big fields.

#3 CA-Major – Dan Smith/Menosse/Steven Smith/FAI – Dan Smith was 8-14 vs the Major division and have beaten both TDB and Resmondo at Space Coast Stadium this season.  They were so close last year to winning the winners bracket championship game at the Major and should be hungry to pull off the upset this year.

#4 CA-AA – Bay Area/Rapid Fire/Bad Draw/Easton – 5-15 vs Major teams this year.  Bay Area just won the 'AA' World and remember back in April they won the winners bracket at Hall of Fame Dual #2 and finished 2nd so they know how to compete at Space Coast stadium and beat the big teams.

#5 SC-Major – Pure Sports – 2-9 vs Major teams this year.  Pure has had a rough year in the major division but does have a nice spot in the bracket to have a shot at 4th or higher.

#6 MO-AA – Nightmare/Miken – 0-10 vs Major teams this year.  Nightmare has a lot of power and will need to use it to try and win a game or two.

#7 MN-AA – Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon – 3-8 vs Major teams this year.  Xtreme has fizzled out after a strong start to the year.  They did beat Resmondo at the Hall of Fame Classic on the Space Coast Stadium field back in April.  Actually 20 run mercy ruled them if I recall.

#8 IL-AA – Smashit/Precision/3rd Street/Bulldawg – 3-12 vs Major teams this year.  Precision is an experienced Major World Series participant and either them or Thunder will get first crack at TDB this Thursday.

#9 NY-AA – SIS/Thunder/Miken/Worth/Anarchy/OA – 3-10 vs Major teams this year.  Thunder and Precision first round game should be a good one between evenly matched teams.  If they get by Precision they have a history this year of playing TDB tough.  I think Thunder is missing a few players though.

#10 NJ-A – MPT Rentals/EVO9X – 5-9 vs Major teams this year.  MPT has that incredible record against Major teams this year and a reputation for slaying the giants.  After their 4th place finish at the 'AA' look for them to give another great effort at the Major.

#11 WA-AA – Newbreed/Cutter LLC – 0-6 vs Major teams this year.  Newbreed had a nice run at the 'AA' World this past weekend and finished 5th last year at the major when they weren't expected to so you never know.

#12 NC-A – Tradesmen/Spiderz/Hang Rite – 1-0 vs Major teams.  Tradesmens first year in the Major they get Pure Sports in their opener.  They have nothing to lose.

#13 FL-AA – Riot/Hubs Pub/Klutch/A&A Utility – 1-4 vs Major teams this year.  Riot isn't really a stadium built team but they do get a Bay Area team that just won the 'AA'.  Teams that win the 'AA' have not fared well in the Major.

#14 MI-AA – Rebel Sports/TN/Troupe/M24/GameBrand – 3-5 vs Major teams this year.  Rebel has beaten Dan Smith a couple of times this year and sort of has their number and that is who they drew in the first round.

#15 AL-A – Baugh Ford/Kut4/OI/Miken/Worth – 1-4 vs Major teams this year.  Baugh has been to the Major a number of years in a row and that experience should help them past a Military team in their first game but the Military teams over the years have pulled some upsets.

#16 GA-A – Primetime/Evolution/FAI/Easton – 0-3 vs Major teams this year.  Primetime should be an even bet to beat SportsReach in their first game.

#17 KY-A – SportsReach – 0-6 vs Major teams this year.  SportsReach is missing a couple of key players including their pitcher Brandon Jonas so they aren't expected to do a whole lot at the Major.

#18 Seed –  Militia/Treedem/Riot/Vetsports (USSSA Military Champions)
