1st Place – Resmondo/SIS/Thunder/RDD/H.Auto/Sprizzi/Easton

The 40th Annual Busch Classic – Arkansas Major began with 25 teams in Sherwood outside of Little Rock Friday night.  There were only 3 Conference teams and all of them received a bye but still played one game on Friday night.  And all 3 (Resmondo, Wood Law, and Vivid) won.  Vivid just getting by Dudley St Louis 12-11.  On Saturday morning the final 8 played out with Wood Law (TX-B) knocking off Washouts (TX-C) 12-8, hometown team Play the Game (AR-A) beating Vivid (TX-A) 22-18 in a great game, Resmondo (FL-M) run ruling J&R Logistics (AR-B) 27-11, and Elite Nashville (TN-C) beating B&B Drywall (MO-B) 30-16.  In the "final 4" it became clear that Resmondo and Play the Game were playing the best softball as Resmondo made quick work of Elite Nashville 24-3 and Play the Game held down Wood Law 15-6.  Then after a long hot day where umpires were dropping due to heat exhaustion the rain came in and cooled things off a little bit for the evening winners bracket finals between Resmondo and Play the Game.  Resmondo got off to a bad start as they used up there 12 home run limit early and Play the Game truly "played the game" and used superior home run management to grab a late lead in the top of the 5th and they extended the lead beyond reach in the top of the 6th and pulled off a shocking victory over Resmondo 38-24.  It was Resmondos first loss to an 'A' team this year.

In the loser's bracket Steel Sports (TX-A), Oilers (TX-B), and Vivid made runs with Vivid winning late on Saturday 29-22 over Wood Law to make it to 3rd.  Resmondo then run ruled Vivid 32-7 and "double dipped" Play the Game 34-19 and 40-18 with superior offense on Sunday to win the tournament!

Total there were 180 teams across 6 men's and women's divisions.  I would like to thank umpire Ken Hawk for putting up the livestream.  There was again a data throttling situation Saturday afternoon that USSSA is trying to work out in a meeting Monday (today).

Also congratulations to Marla and Clint Albright on 40 years of such a great event!

Saturday night upset!  Play the Game beats Resmondo in one of the biggest upsets of the year.

I bought a ROKU device that plugs into your USB port on your smart tv and searched for and downloaded the USSSALive app and watched it on my 55 inch tv.  This is the way to watch the Smoky folks!  The ROKU with the USSSALive app is actually easier to use than the USSSALive website and you can quickly change from field to field.  The Apple TV app is being tested now also.
