2018 USSSA ‘A’ World tournament preview!

USSSA 'A' World Tournament

August 31 – September 2

Tournament Preview

2018 USSSA 'A' World Bracket and Team List Link

The 2018 USSSA 'A' World Tournament will be played this coming weekend at the Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida. The tournament features 25 teams over all with 19 being Nationwide Conference teams, and there are 21 'A' teams and 4 'B' teams.  I feel after recent 'A' Worlds where there were so many upsets that the upsets will continue this year.  Last year a 'B' team made the championship game against Steel Sports and a 'B' team beat the #1 seed Baugh Ford.  In fact Steel won the tournament and only played 1 'A' team which shows you how many upsets there were.  This year 21 of the 25 teams are 'A' teams though and the top teams are heavily favored.  It is impossible to pick this tournament but #1 Baugh Ford, #2 Premier, #3 Rapid Fire, #4 Pauer Sports, #5 Bay Area Legends, and #6 TG Brand are your top seeds and have the most experience.  Tradition tells us 3 or 4 of those top seeds will lose on Friday.

All players, managers, and sponsors have to fill out a waiver to bring to the managers meeting Friday at Noon in our clubhouse/training facility, 5600 Stadium Parkway

The White Softball Quad is the quad in the middle (fences are 325)

They will hit 8 Home Runs per team per game on the very big 325 foot "White" Softball Quad plus they will use the Stadium on Saturday and Sunday with the temp fences set at 325 feet.  The Conference Classic M ZN will be used and it is expected to be very warm.  The fields are all turf with true hops and the wind often swirls.

Note: I will have the chat room running here on from 3 PM eastern time Friday through the championship game on Sunday!

The livestream of all fields will be here.

Any team that wants their team photo taken, just let me know and we will also do the final 4 automatically.

2018 'A' World picks brought to you by!

Shea Nations Picks:

This weekend the A World Tournament will take place in Viera, FL for the first time at the Space Coast Complex with 25 teams and 19 from the Nationwide Conference USSSA.  The breakdown down of teams in attendance include 21 A and 4 B teams.  The #1 overall seed Baugh Ford/Pure Sports/ Kincaid will look for the win that has eluded them in year's past.  The other teams looking to upset the favorite are: Classic Glass / Easton; Bay Area legends/miken; Rapid Fire Athletics/Bad Draw; TG Brand; Premier/Easton/HDLNS and Pauer Sports/JBL/Tailgaters/B&E.

Predictions:  The final 4 undefeated should be: Rapid Fire Athletics/Bad Draw versus Premier/Easton/HDLNS and Baugh Ford/Pure Sports/ Kincaid versus Pauer Sports/JBL/Tailgaters/B&E. Rapid Fire and Baugh Ford should reach the undefeated game.  In the loser's bracket non-conference team OI Livingston/Adiktiv and STARS/ VSP/ Miken/ Thunder should make a run after their 2nd round defeats.

Final Picks for the A World Tournament are:
1. Rapid Fire Athletics/Bad Draw
2. Baugh Ford/Pure Sports/ Kincaid
3. Premier/Easton/HDLNS
4. Pauer Sports/JBL/Tailgaters/B&E
