The annual "Peach State" Shootout sponsored by Pure Sports this year is at Al Bishop Park this Friday – Sunday. Al Bishop has 5 – 300 foot fenced fields and the weather is looking rainy as a tropical depression moves through. The top teams are the 5 'AA' teams led by Pure Sports/Monsta who won the North Carolina Major, Precision/3rd Street/Bull Dawg who double dipped Resmondo to win the Hoosier Classic in Indiana, and Riot Sports/Broughton/Beckham/Worth who shocked all of softball and won the Chattanooga Choo Major in Tennessee. All 3 teams are ranked in the top 10 in the Nationwide Conference USSSA points standings. There are 32 teams total from 17 states including 14 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams fighting it out for 212 points to the winner. This tournament is known for its upsets as Baugh Ford beat non Conference CTC last year while none of the 'AA' teams finished in the top 4. There was also the year D2E/Kapow finished 2nd as a non conference C team ahead of 'A' teams. Baugh Ford who is TBD always plays well in Atlanta, as does Primetime, Southern Mayhem, Eagle Paint, and SNI will all be looking to make a run. Also non-Conference 'A' team OI Livingston/Adiktiv is loaded with Conference experience and playing close to home…
