2016 USSSA Toys for Tots

30th Annual

Palm Springs, CA

December 9-11

The 30th Annual Toys for Tots featured 169 teams across 5 divisions of men's and women's play.  The tournament is known for the strength of its men's "Open" division which had 28 teams and they played in 7 flights of 4 teams each with the top 2 teams in each flight going to the upper single elimination bracket and the 2 teams at the bottom of each flight going to the lower single elimination bracket.  The flights pretty much went true to what was expected as the top 14 teams moved on to the upper single elim starting on Saturday night.  One minor upset was in Pool B where No Limit a California C team upset Fence Brokers 37-31 in the first game and Seminoles ended up getting the top seed out of that pool with FBI moving on in the #2 slot.  Also in Pool D a Sonny's team that was missing a lot of players lost 25-24 to Pony Tail Express another California C team.  And in pool E, Classic Glass playing for the first time together without pitcher Brandon Jonas lost to MyAutoJack 21-19.
