Laservision/H Auto/JJ’s/Easton wins “Last Chance” Michigan Major!

1st Place – Laservision/H Auto/JJ's/Easton

Laservision/H Auto/JJ's/Easton went 6-0 to win the prestigious Michigan "Last Chance" Major Nationwide Conference season finale.  They scored at least 30 runs in every game and came from behind in the winner's bracket semi-finals to beat Precision/Easton 39-37.  Then in the winner's bracket championship on Saturday night they run ruled Red's Astros/Louisville Slugger 46-23.  Red's had just upset Resmondo Specialty Tank Worth 34-17.  In a tournament filled with huge upsets and incredible comebacks, Backman/Shoppe/Louisville Slugger somehow managed to get passed Precision late Saturday night/Sunday morning after trailing 32-0 and winning in extra innings.  And Resmondo knocked off Line Drive Sportz late Saturday 44-34 in a game where tempers were high due to some odd baserunning, a middle war, and some general jawing between teams with a history of not getting along.

So on Sunday at 8 am it was Resmondo run rulling Backman 30-15 and then knocking off Red's Astros 41-26 to get back to the showdown with Laservision once again.  A fresh Laservision team though would not be denied and ended up taking a 15 run lead on Resmondo through 4 complete innings.  In the top of the 5th with two out and no runners on and Resmondo facing a 5 inning run rule loss they scored 10 runs to extend the game.  But in the bottom of the 6th a strong Laservision offense finally finished off Resmondo 50-35.

Laservision wins their 7th Nationwide Conference event of the season and pull close enough to Resmondo in points that the #1 seed for the USSSA Major World Series is still up for grabs at the Conference Championships August, 29-31 in Kissimmee, Florida!

B&B Drywall/Easton from Missouri secured a Major World Series berth by knocking Above All Landscaping out of the top in Conference points.

A full tournament report with video clips and pictures will be posted here at SoftballCenter.com on Monday evening.

DW is there archived video of that 32 run comeback?

  2. Fred says:

Why is Precision classified as a “b” team?

What happened in the line drive resmondo game? We need the details

  4. DW says:

Resmondo and Linedrive got into it at the Smoky when Santana slid into Whaley at second base.

Then in Michigan it started again when Whaley apparently faked a throw at Santana while he was running to second.

Then a middle war started and the benches cleared twice with no punches or even pushing.

Then Linedrive was making some bat accusations at Resmondo but in reality it was late, tempers were up, and there was lots of beer being consumed.

    Not much really to tell.
