Who are you playing with in 2014?
AZM – saldax99@hotmail.com

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
pitcher(although when grienert hit a ball by me at the seattle dual I was wondering why I chose that postion..should have got into the gym and stuck with outfield)

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
AJ Montano….guy lays everything out on the field..plus keeps the game fun in the dugout. Not to bad of a backup pitcher either if I do say so myself.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I like the bonds you form when you get on a team. I have met some great people on the field…even on opposing teams. The pace of play is unreal and almost every game you could see that next ESPN moment.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Donald Hollingsworth, Danny Rutlidge, Jeff Renno, and Chris Lopez…all from Nor Cal..all studs who would help any team for sure.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
predator…get that with the helmet I wear…also Daxamillion

What is your height and weight?
6'0" 205lbs

Where do you call home?
Sacramento, Ca

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
I love playing softball with my local guys…if the tourney directors actually let me. Golf and spending time with the family are up there too

What do you do for a living?
I am a Utilities System operator for a VA hospital

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played baseball, soccer and basketball in high school

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Playing League nights got me in the game..Finally met a guy by the name Timmy Ulhs who showed me what a real bp session consisted of. Then my military background gave me a shot at Conference…and Chris Chaney continues to be a positive influence and has a wealth of knowledge and background to allow me to continue learning the game. I thank 4theFallen and their organization (behind the scene shout out to Jaime Fergozo) for allowing me opportunity to show my skills at the top levels today.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The respect everyone gives to each other. You would think there would be so many egos in the mix…but surprisingly everyone knows you must be good to be at that level..so everyone shows much respect to each other. And yes…those balls do go that fast when there hit just like your watching it on the computer! Last is strategy…setting defense behind the pitcher, coaches knowing where the player hit every time, calling time to ice a batter, things I brought back to me and use in non conference tournies back home.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
NO, but as a pitcher I think everyone studies Purcell…wondering what the hell is he doing so different then what I am doing..lol. Got to be the 8th wonder of the world.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
A game against Classic Glass in Arizona last year…I bet the coach $100 we would beat them. We were down seven originally, 2 outs, bottom of the 7th, 2 runners on..and I hit a homerun to tie the game to take it to the 8th. I got my moneys worth outta that ball.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
TIm Ulhs was the first in my area I saw play the game at a such a high speed, on both sides of the ball. Gotta say him

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Its all about who you know unfortunately, so being humble and non-cocky, finding your local conference player and listening to what he has to say would be my advice. (cuz Im sure he will tell you bp and reps..and be able to give you advice on both)

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
two fingers off, two finger overlap

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
bp, gym work, and rolling around in the sheets with the wifey for felixabilty

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Miami Dolphins- been rough

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
As much as I believe in them…I don't have one of my own

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
drake- started from the bottom now we here

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
keep on pushing that video streaming, its catching on and a lot of people love those archive games.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Toys for Tots, you get the best of the best out there and everyone is playing on different teams, the whole atmosphere is fun.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Disney, those fields are in ridiculous shape

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
firehouse subs and wingstop, tilted kilt aint to bad either

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
B worlds game, Our catcher Jimmy Kulovitz catches a ball with a guy 30lbs heavier then him is running at him full speed. The guy slides into Jimmys legs and bounces 2 ft back and Jimmy just stands there and taps him on the head for the out. Didn't move a inch..hilarous
