Major World Series countdown team #15 3rd Street/Louisville Slugger/MOJO!
#15 3rd Street/Louisville Slugger/MOJO – West Chester, Ohio

3rd Street had a solid season for a 'B' team. The Cincinnati based team was evenly matched against fellow 'B' teams and upset a couple of 'A' teams and Major teams throughout the season. 3rd Street is a veteran conference team with a few rookies that had big seasons in left fielder Chris Hoffer and right fielder Ryan Disbennett.
Outlook: 3rd Street opens the Major World Series with a Wednesday afternoon game against the Military champs Semper. Semper is fired up for this game, so 3rd Street will have to match their energy in what should be a low scoring affair. I have this game as a toss up since 3rd Street is missing the middle of their defense for the Major.
Major interview with 3rd Street's Robert Mahaffey, Sponsor/Manager:
What are your expectations for your team at the Major World Series?
We are excited to be a part of this. It was one of our goals at the beginning of the season. With that said, we are not just satisfied with getting here. This team is able to compete with anyone. We can make some noise in the Major.
What players will be missing or injured for the Major World Series and how will that affect your lineup and defense?
Rob Menke will be missing due to a work conference. He is our starting Middle Infielder and the rock of our defense. We are going to move Josh Fryman to Middle, which is what his natural position was when we picked him up. We are also missing a couple of other players. Thieken, Crawford, Martin, Spicer
Who is your star defensive player that fans should watch and why?
Nick Masur at Shortstop is amazing. He makes the difficult look routine. In the outfield, I hope that we get to show off Ryan Disbennett's arm. Also, our pitcher, Bobby Noeth is not too bad for a 53 year old.
What players are key to your teams offensive and defensive success at the Major World Series?
Chris Hoffer is our rock on offense. His power is tremendous. If we do our job and have guys on base in front of him, he will not disappoint. Steve Kingsolver and Josh Fryman also have stadium power. They will be fun to watch as well. Also, if Tommy Stevens Jr. is on it, watch out. Our infield will be solid, even without Menke. Reichert, Masur, Fryman, Hubbard, Kingsolver.
What other (if any) tournaments does your team have left to play in 2014?
We will be playing in the GSL worlds in Columbus
