The Nationwide Conference USSSA returns to Colorado for the 30th Annual Rocky Mountain Shootout!  The event was cancelled in 2012 and left off the schedule in 2014 but returns this year.  There are 26 teams total led by Sonny's out of Wyoming and B&B Drywall/Easton out of Missouri.  These two teams are the class of the field and will be challenged by Arizonas AZM/3n2/Easton/Classick Sports who has been playing better of late and local 'C' teams like Big Ten, Peak Softball, and Stars/3g Sports/Moose Softball.  I also see CSC/Academy Sports/Salt Riot from Utah in this tournament.  They can play tough.  All in all it looks like pretty good warm weather in Colorado.  The Aurora Sports Complex is a beautiful park with 320 foot fences in the high altitude and we should see Sonny's and B&B Drywall battle this one out in what could essentially be a best of 3 at the end.  In years past Resmondo used to come to this tournament and back in 2010 an 'A' team GTL Cartel upset Resmondo to win the 26th Annual Rocky Mountain Shootout.  (Quiet, don't tell TM50 that a lower class team beat the #1 team in the country for the title).

The last two weekends there have been smaller conference events going on that seem like nice tournaments at great ballparks.  I will need to add one of these 3 tournaments to my coverage in 2015.  Vote for which one over on TheOldScout.com here.

1) Sonnys – Tough to pick against the best team in the west

5) CSC/Academy Sports/Salt Riot – I like their defense

Looks like most people agree that this tournament will be won by either Sonnys or B&B Drywall
