The Gallatin Parks and Recreation Department kills the Music City Major!

The Gallatin, Tennessee Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Department dropped the ball before the first game of the Music City Major was even played.  The Parks director would not allow an inept crew to work on the fields and the entire weekend was canceled inexplicably at noon on Saturday when there was still plenty of time to get the fields in playable condition and at least play the winner's bracket to completion.  USSSA directors were unable to convince the Gallatin parks department to work on the fields and the tournaments future is now in jeopardy.

Half of the 3rd largest Conference tournament ever is still stuck in Gallatin trying to get flights home.

The Nationwide Conference USSSA will resume play in Atlanta, Georgia next weekend.

I wonder what Burgundy will say on Oldscout about this one?

2012 Smoky was played almost without delay

2012 Seattle conditions weren't much better

2011 Dudley

At least these guys got to play some league ball.

I used to have packs of those socks in the 3rd grade.

It really is disturbing why there is no caption under the Dudley photo. The tournament was played in it’s entirety as it has been for 31 years. We have faced problems far worse that what was reported this last weekend. Our ground keepers are proud of this event and work very hard to have the fields in the best playable conditions. I understand that we have lost some backing of the conference teams and do not believe it is just because it is expensive to come here. How much more was it to go to the Music City event? If there is something that we are doing wrong please advise us. Warren Bellm
