What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Anywhere in the infield, either SS or 2B is what I consider my best positions.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Playing in the conference last year I got to see some crazy dudes. I like Julio Salazar from OC he's fun to watch.  Also Connell, Baker, Wegman, Rulli, and Reyna just to name a few.  

Why do you like the game of softball?
I basically grew up at the softball fields so I got to see how competitive the game is along with good people that I have met. I try to play anytime that I can.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Too many to count, I had the opportunity to play with some of them.
Flip Washington, Mike Gibbens, Carson Bray, Mike Nino. Utah has some great talent.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Kool-Aid, long story short I was playing in a tourney in vegas when I was 16 and we beat a team from cali pretty good and walking through the line this dude says "We just got beat by a team who has players that still drink Kool-Aid." then it just stuck.

What is your height and weight?
6'3" 185 lbs

Where do you call home?
Salem, Utah

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Being outdoors, hanging out with the family, maybe a little BP

What do you do for a living?
Work for a company called Security Metrics and go to school at Utah Valley University.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played baseball 4 years. A little bit of college ball.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Well started playing with my dad at the age of 15 in leagues and some tournaments. Played "D" in 2011 When I was 19 with a team called Fire. Then the next year I played "C" with Custom Truck out of Vegas. This last year with CSC Conference "C" with some of the best dudes around.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The overall consistency and the speed of the game. Lineups are tough top to bottom.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Domingo Ayala

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Playing in the Boise Polar Bear a couple years back and in the championship Connell smashed a ball down the 3rd base line, I dove and some how caught it or I should say it caught me.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
That would have to be my dad he has taught me basically everything I know about the game. From hitting to having a good time.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
I don't think i'm in any position to be giving advice.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
28oz, I use the pinky over knob with a somewhat overlap grip.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I try and hit as much as possible, really tough when there is a foot of snow outside.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
I love the Oregon Ducks and New York Yankees. I like basketball and football

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Routine when I step to the plate, I draw a line in the box and before each inning on the infield nothing to crazy.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Some Dr. Dre

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I think they're doing a great job.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
I like the March Madness and Halloween tourney in St. George.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
I like BLD in Vegas the turf is always nice to us infielders

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Buffalo Wild Wings

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Some streakers at the HR derby in Anaconda Montana
