Who are you managing/sponsoring in 2013?
I will be sponsoring Taylormade/TM Sports/Mizuno. I will also be sponsoring and playing for my C team TM Sports/Mizuno.

Why do you like the game of softball?
The spirit and competition. When you play baseball your whole life and have to stop, softball really feels the gap.  The biggest thing I like is the relationships that are built while playing the game.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen (by decade if possible)?
You have the traditional great players that are great and always mentioned like Helmer, Connell, Bryson Baker, etc. The guys I think are the best are ones that come up in their first year or two and perform well ( then get taken from us, buts that's the game) even while learning the higher level. Guys like Kevin Kennington, Kevin Rye, Bryan Logan, Jeremy Yates, Brandon Blake. Best all around hitter Chris Calcutt ( you said last decade, he's getting a little older now) best all player(when he is healthy) Robert Blackburn. Best group of guys to start a legacy with Stacy Bolton, Chyenne Brooks, Brian Floyd, Chris Calcutt and Rick leith.

Where do you call home?
Williamsburg, VA

What do you do for a living?
Vice President of sales for a timeshare organization

What is your softball background as a player?
I have been playing ball for 15 years. When I started I was a pitcher. When I made the move from D to C ball and equipment got better, I moved to second base.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started sponsoring and play for a team I created at the D level in 1998. About 2002, guys on my team started getting married and having babies so could not commit to the schedule anymore. In the middle of the year I threw together a team and one of my friends brought two players with him, Chyenne Brooks and Brian Floyd. We combined teams and started to climb the ranks. Moving a level per year, from C to A in 4 years and the rest is history.

What does your roster and schedule look like?

TaylorMade/TM Sports/Mizuno
Stacy Bolton
Chyenne Brooks
Chris Calcutt
Jackie Corn
Brian Floyd
Kevin Johnson
Blake King
Christopher Kirian
Scott Langford
Rick Leith
Brian Logan
William Moran
Dean Stevens
Nickolas Utley
John Zorich

What is your teams goal for 2013?
WIN the A world. It's the last thing we need to accomplish.

Where do you look for talent?
That's done by Chyenne and Brian and they are great at it. They look at other lower teams for that one shinning player and it seems the whole state of Florida mostly.

How do you evaluate players?
Never kick them while they are down. Most players, since they are competitive, are hard enough on themselves. I would give them as much positive reinforcements as a I could.

What is your favorite sports team?
Baltimore O's

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
None

What is your most memorable softball moment?
Watching Taylormade coming all the way back through the Major World Series to take second place.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make to bring in more sponsors?
Have more exposure for the business they are trying to promote.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Taylormade Classic and Smokey mountain Classic

Is the game better or worse with home run limits and why?
Better. It lets people see that upper level ball players have more skill then hitting the long ball.

Who was the best team in softball history?
In my time it's been Resmondo.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
I bet Taylormade that I could put together a team that could beat them in a local Tournament. I brought in Connell, Blackburn, Helmer, Wegman, Genter, Etc. Helmet hits a rocket at Bryan Floyd. He side steps the ball while screaming like a girl and turning his head. Funny thing is he caught the ball. Got the whole thing on film.
