1B/C/EH; Can play some Corner Outfield

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Bryson Baker – The guy can play any position, and absolutely kills a softball.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love the competition, and friendships that have come along with playing the game over the past few years.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Kyle Pearson – Dude murders the ball.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Foley – It's my last name.

What is your height and weight?
6'3" 250

Where do you call home?
Lake City, AR

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
My wife and I spend a lot of time at the lake on off weekends.

What do you do for a living?
I am currently the Warehouse Supervisor at American Greetings in Osceola, AR.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played basketball, baseball, and golf in high school. And, went on to play baseball in college.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing with some college buddies. Then, continued to work my way up. Our team played some Conference events a few years ago. But, Chris Walker (FBI) gave me the opportunity to consistently play at the upper level.  Then, Jon Kilburn (Vivid) picked me up for the past year and a half.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The level of consistency at the Upper Level is probably the most surprising/impressive part of the game, to me.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Although I was unable to attend, the fact that my team qualified for the Major World Series this year is the biggest highlight.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Lance Smith has always had a big impact on me and my career.  He took me under his wing when I was trying to make my way up, and helped me with opportunities that I, otherwise, might not have received.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Play against the best competition that you can, every chance you get. And, obviously, perform when you get those opportunities. Also, respect your sponsors.  You need them a lot more than they need you.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Standard Power Grip with 27 oz bat.

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Try to get my body into great shape, and continue to get reps at the plate.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
St. Louis Cardinals
Baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
I have a couple of lucky numbers. And, when things are working, I try not to change anything in my routine.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
I will always love the Busch in Little Rock, because that's my home tournament. But, the Smoky Mountain Classic is probably my favorite, after that.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Disney – for obvious reasons. But, the BLD complexes are great to play in.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
For some reason, my wife and I like to eat Cracker Barrel on the way home on Sundays.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
One night, during a league game, the home plate umpire was heckled so hard that he walked off the field, and never came back.  I'm pretty sure there were tears in his eyes on the way out.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I am a huge Walt Disney World fan..

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
This past weekend, my local Arkansas friends hosted a Super Draft tournament in memory of my daughter, who passed away in early September.  That, definitely, has meant the most to me in my career.

Great player. Great teammate. Great friend. Lots of power and throws everyone off by slapping out of the infield every now and then and quick out the box. Picks it at 1st. Definitely would make any team better. He just needs to practice his head first sliding haha GOOD LUCK SPENCER!
