SoftballCenter.com's 2011 Major Prospect List

"2011 Major Prospect List" as picked by SoftballCenter.com before the 2011 season starts.

The Top 10 (in no particular order) – The list contains only players that were NOT on the Major Players List or the Major Watch List list before the 2011 season.

The list was revised on 03/28/2011 after Joey Formosa, Jeff Gare, Seth Stephens, Scott Zaciewski, Terry Rosenbalm, Matt Pesso, Adam Rockoff, Jimmy Salas, and LC Watson, who were on my original prospect list, were all moved to either the Major Player's List or the Major Watch List.

This was a very tough year to pick prospects as many of them are really two years away from the Major division and I'm sure this list will be ridiculed by many.   Just do me a favor and when critiquing my list, leave your list for me to see…

Top 10 Prospects in Alphabetical Order

Travis Clark of EWS – Had a great season.   Can play anywhere on the field including pitcher.   Leadoff hitter mentality.

Kyle Cowart of Jean Shoppe – Another solid season for Kyle playing RF for Jean Shoppe.   Worked his way to the top of the Shoppe lineup towards the second half of the season.    .630  18 HR.    Cowart will be back with Jean Shoppe in 2011.

Brandon Dillon of Sinister – .618 onbase with 45 HR to go with great outfield range for a rookie campaign in the conference is a good start.

Steven Loyd –  I am not even sure he is playing Conference ball but the talent is of the Major level.   Just has to want to do it.

Marty Malloy of Suncoast – Middle infielder with great talent, lefty, just needs more consistency with the onbase percentage like most of these top 10 prospects.

Kyle Moyer – Hardest hitter of all non-major and non-major watch list players.   Capable of carrying an offense.

Shane Spicer of Jean Shoppe – One of the best pitchers in the game.

Michael Stephany of EWS – Speed, and outfield defense, capable of a high onbase from the left side.

Mike Taylor of Team Combat/Pharmapar – Outfielder who first came on the scene with ABS.  .605 onbase would need to come up but capable proven talent.

Losson White of Suncoast – Losson is the best fielding pitcher in the game, works hard on the mound and is a winner.   .648 onbase and lots of doubles.
