What positions do you play and what is your best position?
I am a utility guy. Can play anywhere in the diamond. I prefer middle or second or ss.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
There are so many. Boo Coleman, Johnny bailey, Pilar, jay hill, Eric overtreet, Jared hunt.. that just to name a few that come to mind. There are so many grant players.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I am very competitive and it's a way to have fun and still compete on a high level. Also seeing greats friends and family I served with in my days spent in ther service

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Jayr, it my childhood name I carried with me through out my softball career.

What is your height and weight?
I am 5'6 165lbs

Where do you call home?
My hometown is Pittsburgh, pa and I live in San Diego,ca.

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Watching football and spending time with my family.  Bp and hitting the gym. Trying to get better each day.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played varsity football and wrestling for four years and track n field

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I got my start in the military playing company ball. Then I got hooked on playing competitive more.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
My highlight would be my first time playing for rings in Vegas for military worlds. Great experience and fun times

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
I would have to say my brother boo coleman saying just go out here have fun and play hard. My hitting coach saying out in the work and your time will come.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Always give it your all. Never quit on yourself or your team. And thank any sponsors you have for anything they have done for you and the team.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
26oz endload pinky drop and one finger overlap

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Bp bp lift weights and more bp, fielding drills.  Everything tonorep me for the next year.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
I am a huge football fan and basketball.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Yes I never step on the chalk or lines on the field anytime during the game.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Big bear that is held in may in California. It's a great tournament and a lot of fun with my family and friends.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Bld in Las Vegas. That all turf field is amazing.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Watching my teammate that never sides. Try to slide when the game is on the line and slips and falls ten feet before the bag and still make it safe.  Hahahaha

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I am a huge family man. I love my family and friends like family.
