Empire-BSC

2018 Free Agent – Eaglesfow@yahoo.com

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
I can play all three outfield positions. Center would be my best position.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
All around Steven Lloyd and Andy Purcell. Both top defensive guys who kill the ball.

Why do you like the game of softball?
There is nothing like the game of softball. The competitiveness/camaraderie that comes with the sport is awesome. It's a great stress reliever and it's a place I can see friends whom I normally don't get to see. Especially with military softball.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
The best up and coming softball player I know is Seth Ricketson. He played as a backup role on TDB last year, but his power as an outfielder is incredible. I can't wait to watch him develop as a ball player.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
The White Mamba! Haha I'm kidding. That was my joke nickname for BSC. But usually it's just Fow because it's quick and easy.

What is your height and weight?
6 ft 185 LBS

Where do you call home?
Charleston, SC

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Watching sports and relaxing. But I play ball pretty much every weekend.

What do you do for a living?
I am in the United States Air Force as a security forces person. But my actual job is a Unit Deployment Manager.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played pretty much every sport growing up. Baseball/soccer were my main two sports.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
There have been many people who have mentored me. Michael Hanner gave me my original start. Capone, Wolfe, and Sean Moore helped me develop and get to the C level. Military wise, there have been a ton of people who have influenced me.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The pitching/consistent hitting for sure. Teams feed off each other's energy and can score 10 runs like that.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I don't really like to compare my game to people, because I like to have my own identity as a player.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
I would say making the All Air Force team. That is an experience like no other.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
I learn from everyone I play with. Many people have impacted my approach to the game.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Always be a team player. It's not about the home runs. Hit backside when needed and always learn from your teammates.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
26.5 usually and overlapping pinky

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
BP, sprints, and workout in the gym.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Eagles would be my favorite team, but I love all my Philly sports teams!

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
I usually only use one bat at a time. I don't like to switch back and forth at all.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Killswitch engage- This Fire

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Not sure on this one. It seems to always be improving.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Military Band-Aid and the pic-o-Dixie are a blast !

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
I love the Myrtle Beach fields !

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Hooters of course. But any place to have a beer and relax with your teammates !

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Some of these Judy swings for sure. It can get real ugly sometimes lol.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
Well I am pretty vocal about everything I like.

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
Anything eagles related haha. I love my birds !

Fow is a young gamer, would be an asset to plenty of conference teams. Hes also a class act and will represent sponsors the right way.

  2. Jerome G says:

Robbie “White Mamba” Fow reminds me of a guy who could take the same fast track Jeremy Yates took two major.
He is a ball of fire don’t judge him by his frame. One of the top players in the Carolinas easily, definitely a low maintenance Steal. In my opinion he will thrive in left field he plays it better than I’ve seen in awhile.

  3. Barry says:

He’s the fastest kid alive and should be on a conference team before long.

  4. Trim says:

    Retire already

  5. Cedric says:

Heck of a ball player got the pleasure to play with him and this guy kills the ball. Best part of his game is his attitude, he stays positive. Great addition to any team
