Why do you like the game of softball?
The game it self is humbling. It will love you one minute and hate you the next. Love the competition and the friends you make in this game.
Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Haven't played with many but have played with Sam Lopez and Dan "Dirty" Sanchez. They are very good ball players and I learned a lot from them both.
What is your nickname in softball?
Coach Tap from my local team started calling me Money Mike and it stuck.
Where do you call home?
Home will always be Tulare California, but life has placed me in Shreveport Louisiana
What do you do for a living?
I work at Overton Brook VA medical hospital as a hvac mechanic.
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played football, basketball, soccer and baseball in HS. Played baseball in college.
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Played with RUM a D team with my friends and moved up to B/C from there. Looking for a break to get on a full time conference team.
What position do you play?
Play 3B, 2B, 1B, pitch a lil.
What batting grip do you use?
Over lap two on top and drop one
What ounce bat do you use?
27oz bat
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Take bp hit gym and going to try racketball this off season.
What is your favorite sports team?
Washington Redskins, Angels
What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Baseball and football
Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Cannot take bp on Friday before tourny.
Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?
Depends on the player. Me its a sport. I work on my game year around. Some players just go and play with friends and to hang out. Just a game to them.
What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
I would have to say limit number of major players per team.
