Who are you playing with in 2012?
Team Demarini

Why do you like the game of softball?
It is a way for me to compete and also be apart of a team and experience the camaraderie and friendships formed from doing that.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
The few that stand out offensively would be Brett Helmer and Chris Larsen.   On the Defensive side I have never seen anyone better than Matthew Pesso (he makes plays nobody should be able to make) and I am glad the rest of the country gets to see that now that he's reached the major/A level but the best I have seen at all facets of the game is Brian Wegman.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
There are a few guys that deserve a shot soon – I'm a fan of Paul Garcia (pitcher out of Nor Cal), Jack Chapman (very good MI) and George Hamm (OF) – these guys all play the game the right way and with the right opportunity they will be a great addition to the upper level.  There are some players here in So Cal that could play up for sure- if anyone needs a clutch hitter Santos "Chelo" Reyes could help any team.

What is your height and weight?
6'4" 260lbs

Where do you call home?
Santa Clarita, Ca

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Time with family and friends.

What do you do for a living?
Investigator for a city agency.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played high school football and baseball.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started playing with friends and always wanted to move up each year and play at the next level.  Playing with guys like Billy Susdorf and Sean Boldt who had the same mindset and wanted to see how far they could go in softball- now they're still playing and I'm coaching but all 3 of us are with Conference teams again this year.

What was the best advice you were ever given?
Play the game the right way and be as gracious in defeat as you are in winning.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Play hard and treat your opponents, teammates and sponsors with respect.  Good things happen to good people and if you're good someone will notice- keep playing every chance you get and you'll get noticed.

What position do you play?
Started in LF then to 1B then to C….Now you'll find me coaching a bag or in the dugout.

What batting grip do you use?
Pinky over the knob bottom hand and standard top hand.

What ounce bat do you use?
27oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Load up on saturated fat!

What is your favorite sports team?
any UCLA team.

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Not really.

What is your most memorable softball moment?
Taking 2nd at USSSA B worlds when nobody gave us a chance and playing a full league season 2 years ago with my dad and brother for the 1st and only time due to living a good distance away from one another.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Mother by Danzig.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Spread out the talent and make it more affordable for sponsors to get back in the game.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Toys for Tots in Palm Springs

What is the best softball field you have played at and why?
OKC ASA Hall of fame stadium.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
IHOP never treated me bad.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Chuck Shimmels either running around asking for tape for a certain body part of his that was slapping his leg or some story of his…
